Chapter 63 - the Eye of Destiny

“That’s good that you decided to go out, my dear,” Patrick stood in front of Bianca, at the heart of the woods, bathed in silver moonlight. Bianca kept silent, her ebony feathers glistened in the soft glow. Her eyes, once sharp and knowing, now held a distant and confused look. She shifted uneasily, uncertain of her surroundings.

“Don’t feel anxious. I’m over the moon that you’re feeling stronger at last,” he came up to her slowly and intended to hug her. Bianca, feeling uncertain in the arms of a stranger, wanted to oppose it, but she could not push him away. She realized she needed that, she needed to be taken care of.

Patrick finally hugged her and reassured her everything would be fine. “Just trust me.”

Staying so close to her, like a father to his daughter, he motioned for Jig to approach, his eyes carrying a mix of hope and tenderness.

"Bianca, my daughter, this is Jig. He's... he's your husband."
