44. I can feel her

Elisha’s POV

The angry roar stopped before Granny Pearl went outside, so I never heard it again, and we both staring at each other with curiosity. She said, “I’ll be back.”

Suddenly, there was complete silence, and I could listen to nothing.

I held my breath when Jake grabbed my arm. When I turned around, he was standing there. Jake's hair was tangled, and he was softly breathing as he tried to stay calm. He looked away, his eyes lit up a little, and he asked, "What are you doing? Stay away from that window."

I moved away innocently, looking confused. “Why?”

He said something right away. "That window is getting old and should be replaced."

I slowly nod my head with a lot of confusion, but I also have many questions I want him to answer. But he wasn't doing well today and had a lot going on. I gave him a shy smile and took a step back. "Uh, I'm sorry, I didn't know that I shouldn't touch that window."

He sighed, “And…you don’t have to open it again, even if we have a visitor here
