Guilt

"Please open the door!" 

I banged on the door several times, yelling out for help, hoping if anyone could hear me.

"Is anybody there?" I slammed my fists against the wood frame again with shaky hands, taking deep breaths in. The closet was small and dark, only tiny rays of light came through the narrow space from the bottom of the double doors. 

I felt like the walls of the small closet were closing in on me, suffocating me. My heart thumped down my ribcage as drops of sweat trickled down my nape, to my spine. 

"P-please! Open the d-door!" I coughed through my labored breath. 

I knew there was no one. And the person who locked me in wouldn't let me out even if they were still there, otherwise they wouldn't lock me here to die in the first place. But still, there was a desperate hope that they would somehow take pity on me and let me out. Or maybe someone passi
