Chapter 18

Sabine

I sighed, opening my eyes. It’s been three days since I woke up and doctor Smith insisted on keeping me here so I completely heal. I wrapped myself into the yellow fluffy blanket that Sasha brought me and got down the bed. I walked towards the window, even though it’s still dark, the forest outside gives me peace. I know it sounds strange but I never felt more like home than I felt here. I know I am sitting in a clinic bed but having a roof over my head and not having to move around every day really made me feel that I belong here.

Mom and Sasha have been taking turns to keep me company, not that I am complaining. It’s nice to have them both around. 

My mom now looks happier than ever, she usually comes in the afternoon loaded with books about plants and herbs thanks to the lady she stays with.  We get to spend most of
