Chapter 32

Anna's point of view

Three weeks have passed, and Dylan is settling into school, although he's still not happy about it. He knows if he wants to stay with Ash at the Fire pit, then he must attend school.

I'm having the time of my life; I love being at the house with Ash and Dylan. My favourite place is sitting in the kitchen overlooking the gardens. I've also found a love for cooking, remembering the meals my mum used to cook for me when I was a child.

Good old-fashioned food, but then again, it was over fifty years ago.

Ash often invites Stan and his wife over, along with Bear; of course, in the past couple of weeks, I've also become good friends with Stan's wife, Linda. It's good to have some female company in my life. After being separated from my mum and kept confined to the Palace, I've never really had any friends that I could call my own, I talked to a few of the Palace staff, but they were too scared of the King to make friends with me.
