Chapter 33

Ash’s point of view

When we get back to the house, Dylan goes straight to his room, Ash walks into the kitchen, and I follow behind as I say.

"Ash?"

"What, babe." He replies with a frustrated sigh.

"You couldn't have stopped Areon from doing what he did to me; you were locked up in a cage."

He runs his hand over his chin as he replies. "I know; I wish I could have stopped him; I will never forget what I saw that night, and it kills me that I couldn't do a thing to stop him."

"I know, baby." I whisper as I wrap my arms around his back, feeling him sink against me as I rest my head on his muscular back, I whisper,

"You need to speak to Dylan; he thinks you blame him for being expelled, and he did what any decent human would do; he stopped that girl from being attacked."

Ash turns around, pulling me into his arms as he says. "I know, baby, he did what I couldn't."

I lean up to kiss his lips as I say.

"Don't you dare blame yourself, Ash. You are the one who got me away from that monster,
