"So what?" I laughed, and Lua did, too. I said, "That's a good idea," which made her stop laughing and look at me to make sure I wasn't kidding.

"What?" She didn't know what to say. Before I told her, "I think I know the perfect way to test Lucian," I bit my lower lip in excitement.

"You do?" Her eyes sparkled with mischief.

"Yes," I said with a wicked smile, and then I told Lua about my plan.

After I told her what I'd decided, she told me, "You're mean."

"Am I?" I asked in a sneaky way. When Lucian and his equally annoying second in command came out of the woods, Lua opened her mouth to say something. The wolves had already set up their camp and lit a fire. They were now making dinner.

"What's the joke?" Lucian asked, his eyes burning with interest.

"Why? You both, "Lua shot back, and Lucian let out a very low growl.

"Anyway, we've decided to cross the river tomorrow," I said to stop him from talking any longer. I was so tired that I just wanted to be done with this already, eat dinn
