chapter 60

I walked in to the council chambers, surprised that I'm the first to show up this morning.

I walked further in to the chamber until I was standing next to my father's seat which is now mine.

Placing a hand on the head of the chair, I let out a sigh.

Long ten years had past since I started fighting for this seat but it was now that I realized that the fight was so worth it.

"You finally made it."

I heard Uncle Jeremy's voice before I see him walk in to the council chambers.

"We finally did it." I corrected him, knowing that I would have never made it this far if it wasn't for his guidance and protection.

Uncle Jeremy chuckled before he walked closer and surprised me with a warm bear hug.

"I'm proud of you, Barlion. You deserve this and until my time comes to step off of my council seat, I will keep on supporting you."

The amount to affection I got from my uncle had always flustered me. He showed me more fatherly love than my actual father ever did.
