Eliza looked at Maddie worriedly as she was staring at herself for a few minutes now. It’s like she is not herself. Eliza is hesitating to snap her out of her thoughts in fear that it will anger her. Meanwhile, Maddie is indeed having deep thoughts. Ever since what happened in the sanctuary of the last flame, she couldn’t get her mind off of Theo.

Maddie slowly spun as Flora checked her dress. Eliza gave her two thumbs up which made Maddie smile. Flora clasped her hands when Maddie faced her.“As expected, you suit the dress.” Flora said while gently dusting off the skirt of the dress.Maddie’s face burned and all she managed to give as a response was a shy smile. Eliza helped her remove the simple cream floral dress that Flora designed herself. She immediately went to her, bringing the dress that will be her wedding gown, as soon as she heard the news that Maddie and Theo are getting married in two days time. It was not only her that is exuberant for the upcoming union but as well as the other gods and goddesses. They even started delivering their gifts to Maddie in advance.Maddie

Eliza hurriedly went to Theo who’s having his morning meeting with the guards. Despite her growing nervousness and fear, the servant still took all her courage with her when she entered the room. Theo quickly stabbed her with his glare so Eliza quickly bowed her head.“I apologize, my lord.” She breathlessly said with her head still down. Two guards instantly went on both her sides, waiting for an order to drag her away and behead her.“State your purpose before I get your head to feed the birds.” Theo said seriously while staring at Maddie’s personal servant.“Miss Maddie did not cheat on you and I can vouch for that. “Eliza, where are we going?” Eliza just smiled at her before she continued dragging her to the front porch.It’s already late at night and she should be resting because it is her wedding day tomorrow. Maddie thought that it will take a while before they will get married, especially after their misunderstanding. However, the next day, Eliza gave her the news that their nuptial will be the following day. It was sudden but Maddie didn’t care. All she wants now is to marry Theo. Maddie took a deep breath but it was no use. She’s still having a hard time controlling her breathing as she’s too nervous. Eliza helps her calm down by giving her an assuring smile. Maddie smiled back at her but it was crooked.“You are beautiful, my lady.” Eliza complimented sincerely and it has been her nth time of saying that statement.“It’s not that I am worried about, Eliza.” Maddie said before pouting her lips.“Is it about the ritual?” Eliza is now worried too. Maddie sighed before nodding then she looked ahead.“Theo said that it will not affect our marriage but I am still worried. What if we get a divorce after a few days?&rdquo

Maddie kept looking at herself in the mirror. She feels nauseous just by merely thinking about what's going to happen in a few while. She took a deep breath while shaking her hands as they kept on shaking. Maddie's nervous, super nervous that she thinks she wilo faint any moment now. She and Theo will share their first night together and it is her first time. She's afraid of what she's going to do and feel. Maddie's not innocent about it so all the knowledge she knows is what's making her worry. A knock disturbed her from overthinking and knowing well that it's Theo, made her heart skip a beat. "I'm coming!" She washed her hands before drawing in a deep breath. "Is everything alright, Maddie?" She sensed Theo's worry so Maddie quickly went out of the bathroom which slightly startled Theo. Maddie missed again and slashed the curtain. Despite the confusion, Theo was still quick in dodging Maddie’s attempt to kill him. He stood on the other side of the room, naked and bewildered about what was happening. “Put the dagger down, Maddie. Let us talk this through.” Theo said calmly but Maddie is nowhere near calm. He can feel her anger and what’s worse is that he couldn’t understand why. They were happy, or so he thought. “There’s no need to talk, Theo. What needs to be done here is to end you.” Her voice is filled with so much hatred that Theo forgot she was the woman he loves. It feels like another woman is standing in front of him. “What is wrong, Maddie? Did I do something to upset you?” Theo is still calm as he is trying to understand the situation, his wife. At that moment, Maddie’s expression changed. Her eyes widened as she stared at the dagger she was holding. The world stopped moving when a beaming light in the middle of the road appeared. A man came out from the light and he looked around. He was not even surprised that no one’s moving, even the wind can’t be felt. The man went to the side of the road and as soon as he snapped his fingers, everything went back to normal as if it didn’t stop functioning for a few seconds. Theo tossed and turned in his bed for hours but he was unable to sleep. He sat out of frustration then pulled his shoulder-length hair. Theo groaned before he decided to take a swim at the lake behind his palace. He stripped naked then he swam until he was in the middle of the lake. He wiped his face using his hand before he looked above. The two moons next to each other are glistening that contrast the dark blue sky. He sighed hashly before letting himself sink in the deep and pitch-black water. Theo is restless because Madeline is disturbing his peace. She kept visiting his thoughts and he couldn't help but to entertain the possibility of being with her. He wanted it to come true but even if he’s the highest and most respected god, he’s powerless when it comes to that.
