CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

Maddie missed again and slashed the curtain. Despite the confusion, Theo was still quick in dodging Maddie’s attempt to kill him. He stood on the other side of the room, naked and bewildered about what was happening.

“Put the dagger down, Maddie. Let us talk this through.” Theo said calmly but Maddie is nowhere near calm. He can feel her anger and what’s worse is that he couldn’t understand why. They were happy, or so he thought.

“There’s no need to talk, Theo. What needs to be done here is to end you.” Her voice is filled with so much hatred that Theo forgot she was the woman he loves. It feels like another woman is standing in front of him.

“What is wrong, Maddie? Did I do something to upset you?” Theo is still calm as he is trying to understand the situation, his wife.
