CHAPTER 22.

Dane took a day off from work. He had taken his lunch and he tried to get some sleep. He promised Cynthia that he'll take her around the city in the evening, coming back to his empty house, he decided to take a little nap before any other thing. 

He was deep into his nap when he felt a warm soft body curl up against him, placing her head on his chest. 

"Raine." He breathed without opening his eyes. "My sugarplum..."

The body stiffened but just slightly. Then, she relaxed again. 

It was Dane's turn to stiffen. This person doesn't smell like his Raine. That familiar flowery scent was absent. This person doesn't smell like home. 

Dane opened his eyes to see Cynthia staring up at him. She smiled kindly at him, "I'm sorry I woke you."
