After an unsuccessful day of calls to almost everyone in her whole town, Atzi sat and contemplated the Husky's new name. She was at a loss for words when it came to a good pet nameas he was her very first one to have. She eventually settled with the name Demon because of the mean look he was currently giving her from rattling off various names. Motus only gave a disgruntled grunting huff as her name choice.
He still looked displeased at Demon but Atzi shrugged and stuck with that moniker as she thought it fit him best overall. As it was getting late into the evening, Atzi grabbed her coat and Demon's leash from off the wall hooks and turned to him as she spoke, leash in hand. "Alright..let's go on one last walk before bed. Come on boy." Atzi said as she led him out for a walk. Motus grumbled in a bothered way as he was not looking forward to this walk of humiliation.
They ventured along the treeline when fir a good bit of time before Demon's head shot up and alert. She noticed his change in behavior and looked around as well with a slight worry on her mind. She didn't worry too much as she knew her neighborhood was relatively safe.
Suddenly he lunged from her grasp with a loud bark and ran away limping on his healing leg. The bandage wrapping got caught on the branches and tore off as a clue for Atzi to know what directionhe ran in. Atzi ran after but the deep snow slowed her down and her soon was gone from her sight. Various barking and howling was soon heard in the night air all around her. Atzi's eyes grew wide and she turned around trying to see what was making those noises. She attempted to go back towards home, but grew confused.
She had tried to follow Demon into the woods but when she tried to go back, she was all turned around. True she wanted to follow her tracks back but the moonlight was half blocked by the branches so it was hard to make the tracks out. Atzi huffed to herself in frustration at herself for becoming lost.
The noises of barks and howls got closer and closer to her. She started to panic and looked for something to defend herself. She saw a branch, when she went to grab it, a scarred up gray wolf left over it and knocked her back. It snarled and several other canines encircled her.
Atzi tried to scare them off but they remained emotionless and gazes fixated on her. "Ohh. What now?.." She thought to herself. The wolves lowly growled at her and kept her from running away.
The gray one barked at white wolf and the white dashed away into the darkness of the trees. She was in fear of what they would do when Suddenly her hands began to tingle. She looked at them and her eyes grew wide with both curiosity and fear.
Still running, Motus huffed and puffed the more he ran through the snow. His ears up and alert but he never heard the howls get closer as he got farther away from Atzi. He suddenly stops and thinks. After running for a good 10 minutes, Motus realized that they never followed him. "So, if I'm not the target...then who..is..?" Motus couldn't believe it. This was a first.Motus froze and realized they wanted Atzi, "But..why the human...why target her?... she's not that import-" Motus was confused at this and felt a strong pulling urgency to reach her. This felt new to Motus yet familiar at the same time. It scared him at first til he realized what it meant. He suddenly and high tailed it back towards where he left her. The howls and growls grew faint then louder and his drive to reach her grew stronger. He ran faster and more determined despite the dull pain in his healing leg that was throbbing like crazy. His current husky state slowed down his healing
After a few days of rest and relaxation, Atzi finally decided to try and figure out what happened to her that night. Demon was nearby on the floor near her desk. He lifted his head when he heard her voice. "What..was that..? I..don't understand…"She looks at the husky and for a second thought he was listening. She reached put and spoke to him as she petted his soft ears. "Oh Demon, what am I going to do?""Well first off my name's not Demon..though my enemies think I am a demon." His voice finally spoke aloud andAtzi jumped back surprised and ran into the other exam room.Motus followed and pawed at the door. 'Ahhh come ooon. I'm not that scary am I? We can now talk about it now Atzi. I'm surprised you can actually understand me."Atzi couldn't believe it, her dog was talking to her. "Dogs don't talk...d..do they?" She thought to herself. She waited a bit before coming out. Motus was sitting on the chair near her door.He hopped
The next day, Atzi and Motus got things together for the trip. Motus told her what they needed and Atzi packed it in a bag. Soon they were headed out. "So where do we go now Motus?" Atzi asked him as he sat in the backseat."First of ...all...i..am..not..a..pet.." He said each word as he climbed into the front seat. "...so I get to sit up front like a normal human being.." He nods his head with a matter of factly manner and chuffs."Secondly we are going to stop at Lake Destiny for a few days. You need to train."Atzi looked at him with a surprise in her eyes. "Train. ? Train for what..?" She asked as they drove down a wooded road. Motus smirked and looked at the passing trees. After a few hours' drive, they arrived at Lake Destiny. Motus yawned as he just awoke from a nap. Atzi opened his door and he got out. She gathered a few things and followed him to the water."We need to draw out that power you displayed. It's t
They reached the camp and Motus wanted to speak, but didn't know what to say. He felt bad for scaring her and wanted to make amends for his bad choice. He had grown to like her very much and didn't want to ruin any chances with her.Atzi pitched her tent and started a fire afterwards. She stared at the burning orange flames, the floating embers and listened to the cackling wood as it burned. The noises of the fire were all that filled that night's cool air. Motus settled near her but still gave her space. She found her earbuds in her bag and put them in her ears, linked them to her cellphone and began to listen to her music. After a few minutes, Atzi stood up and went towards the lake. Motus watched her and followed behind a bit, worried for her to be safe. Atzi began to jog around the lake as a way to think better. Her music picked up pace and so did her running pace. Her heart raced even more as she picked up speed. Her head lowered as s
The pair woke up all cuddled together under the trees. Motus stirred awake first and looked at Atzi with his icy blue eyes. He gave a kind smile and gently nuzzled her face. She woke up and blushed a bit red.Atzi sat up and stretched a bit. She stood up and looked at Motus.“Well, I think my music in my earbuds helped out. Instead of you scaring me, I'll keep at least one of these in my ears, just in case.” Motus nods to her in response and they head back into the woods. The other day before they arrived at the lake, Motus explained how this place wasn't very far from Damon’s castle. He said they could hike the rest of the way because a car can't get up the steep hill his castle is on top of.Atzi listened and was thinking of what could happen once they got to the castle. Would they see those guards again? Will they be able to get past them if they do see them? And if so, where from there? All t
Atzi continued to shift through many volumes and tomes she pulled off the dusty shelves. Each she looked through didn't have any clue or answer for a curse breaker. She almost gave up when she heard a book fall on the hardwood floor. Atzi looked up from the book in her hands and closed it slowly. She crouched in the aisle and began to walk slowly towards the back of the room. Her brown eyes looked all over, trying to catch a glimpse of what made that book fall. She heard scurries across the floor. Atzi grew anxious and a bit scared. "Who's there?" She asked in a shakey voice. There was no reply. She asked again only to hear another falling book hit the floor. Her footsteps creaked on certain places on the wooden floor. She then caught a glimpse of red eyes in a shadow part of the area before they disappeared. Atzi jumped surprised but stood in place.Atzi slowly walked towards where she say the eyes were last seen. In her hands, she held a t
Motus leapt at the tall man as Atzi disappears from his sight. "i hope she gets out safely." He thought to himself as he attacked. The man caught Motus by his neck and threw him into a nearby shelf. The shelf and all its dusty contents crashed on top of Motus with a loud clatter."You ain't so big and bad now are ya? Haha! Just a scared pup you are now." The tall man stepped into a brighter light to reveal himself as Amadaus. Motus attempted to stand, but he was wobbly and aching,"Take this mutt to the grand meeting room. Im sure the Alpha would love to see what we caught." Amadaus said with a nasty sneer. Two other guys came at Motus and carried him off.Amadaus was just about to fo!low when he caught the scent of another....a female. A wicked smile appeared on his lips bigger then the chesire cat. He pulled a lower ranked wolf to him and said."Smell that? We hace a little lost girl running around...find her and bring her to me..unharmed. D
Atzi was running deep into the nearby woods that was not far from the window she jumped from. She wondered if the mouse was okay, but she remembers the sudden squeak followed by men's laughter"I thank whoever is watching for bringing her to help me and wish her to be safe." Atzi whispered to herself as she walked in the deep woods. She was just about to stop and look at the page she ripped from the book when a familiar sound hit her ears; the Guards.Atzi pocketed the paper and began running. She weaved through the trees, hopped over the brambles and bushes, her breath steady and tried to stay silent. The howls and barks alerted to Atzi how close they were on her trail. Her dark eyes grew wide at the thought of being caught. With this on her mind she ran faster. Sliding down a small cliffside she ducked into a cave just big enough to hide her. She remained her listening...watching.Above her, she heard the Guards huffing and
