Chapter Four: The Fated Walk

After an unsuccessful day of calls to almost everyone in her whole town, Atzi sat and contemplated the Husky's new name. She was at a loss for words when it came to a good pet nameas he was her very first one to have. She eventually settled with the name Demon because of the mean look he was currently giving her from rattling off various names. Motus only gave a disgruntled grunting huff as her name choice.

He still looked displeased at Demon but Atzi shrugged and stuck with that moniker as she thought it fit him best overall. As it was getting late into the evening, Atzi grabbed her coat and Demon's leash from off the wall hooks and turned to him as she spoke, leash in hand. "Alright..let's go on one last walk before bed. Come on boy." Atzi said as she led him out for a walk. Motus grumbled in a bothered way as he was not looking forward to this walk of humiliation.

They ventured along the treeline when fir a good bit of time before Demon's head shot up and alert. She noticed his change in behavior and looked around as well with a slight worry on her mind. She didn't worry too much as she knew her neighborhood was relatively safe.

Suddenly he lunged from her grasp with a loud bark and ran away limping on his healing leg. The bandage wrapping got caught on the branches and tore off as a clue for Atzi to know what directionhe ran in. Atzi ran after but the deep snow slowed her down and her soon was gone from her sight. Various barking and howling was soon heard in the night air all around her. Atzi's eyes grew wide and she turned around trying to see what was making those noises. She attempted to go back towards home, but grew confused.

She had tried to follow Demon into the woods but when she tried to go back, she was all turned around. True she wanted to follow her tracks back but the moonlight was half blocked by the branches so it was hard to make the tracks out. Atzi huffed to herself in frustration at herself for becoming lost.

The noises of barks and howls got closer and closer to her. She started to panic and looked for something to defend herself. She saw a branch, when she went to grab it, a scarred up gray wolf left over it and knocked her back. It snarled and several other canines encircled her.

Atzi tried to scare them off but they remained emotionless and gazes fixated on her. "Ohh. What now?.." She thought to herself. The wolves lowly growled at her and kept her from running away.

The gray one barked at white wolf and the white dashed away into the darkness of the trees.  She was in fear of what they would do when Suddenly her hands began to tingle. She looked at them and her eyes grew wide with both curiosity and fear.
