Bleeding heart

King Arlo's POV

I opened my eyes to the sun's rays and shut them back with a groan. Another day of feeling empty and scarred. I didn't want to get up. Lying here all day seemed like a better option. Sleeping came easier to me now, as it was the only way I could escape my miserable reality.

A muffled groan escaped my lips as my mind wandered to the thoughts that forced me to sleep and kept me sullen when I was awake. The thoughts of Jordy, painful thoughts of my disappeared mate.

Days turned into weeks and weeks had become months since Jordy’s disappearance and she was nowhere to be found. No news on her whereabouts. She just vanished, like she never happened.

Right now, I would be lying if I said I was alright because I was certainly not. I was growing weaker with every second that passed and the fact that I was the king made it a lot harder.
