Confusion and realization

MESSIAH JORDY'S POV

I watched as the maid placed the water on my nightstand. She bowed and left.

Slauson was on my couch, still trembling, even though I had my thickest duvet resting on his shoulders. He looked traumatized. Probably from seeing the sentinels in their wolf forms and from getting beaten up and locked up in the dungeon.

I had them release him but he was so shaky that his knees continuously hit each other. They had to drag him in here. It'd been half an hour but he still hadn't said a word.

His teeth clattered nonstop and he would bite his lower lip and let out a subtle whimper at intervals. I wanted to let him be until he got calmer on his own, but I figured he might be thirsty. Hence, I sent for the water.

"Here, have a drink." I had the cup in his face. He didn't budge. I sent it closer and he finally noticed it.

He looked up at me, eyes filled with terror. "The girl who just walked in, isn't she one of them? She's just like those gruesome creatures, right
