CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Lucas wasn’t the type that lied or twisted his words, he had a nature of being veracious and direct. Although it was difficult when it came to Brenda, he didn’t make any exceptions, he already knew what she wanted to ask and he wasn’t planning on lying.

“Who’s she?” She asked, her death stare probing into his eyes.

“Riley,” He said. “Do you want another drink?”

He asked. “Who’s she?” Brenda asked again, her face deadpan.

“A girl I met and rescued in the forest during yesterday’s attack.” He said and got up to fix a drink for himself.

“What attack?” She asked.

“We took down another pack yesterday.” He replied.

This conversation only had one way, she was the one asking the questions while he only provided the answers. Her eyes flashed with admiration, Lucas never lost a fight and she took pride in the fact that he was her fiancé, but then she remembered the angry role she was playing.
