Chapter Fifty-Three: Opening

Waking up on Monday, I thought I would be a little stressed and worried for what may lay ahead for me now that I had to go back to work, but I wasn’t at all. Yes, I knew it would feel so strange that Shane wouldn’t be there, a hole was always going to be where he stood no matter who Kevin had hired to help me, but I also knew I couldn’t allow that to run my life.

I knew Shane for so many years and spent countless hours with him, especially when it was only us two either opening up the café or closing it, that would be the time we’d work and talk about some deep topics. I know more than anything that he’d want me to get on with my life, always keep him in my memories of course but not allow the horrible death that he endured to ruin that.

I was somewhat excited to walk back through those doors, with how my life has been and the many battles I have been forced to face at once, this was sort of signifying the end to all of that and the doors opening up for the new becomings. Perhaps
