With them insisting on not leaving their Mum all alone in her weak state and me insisting they must eat, we called Mary to come upstairs.

“Come in Mary.” I called softly after hearing a brief knock.

“How is she doing?” She asked softly after sending a brief glance towards the bed.

“Coming out of it hopefully.” I said confidently, knowing those little humans had their ears pinned to the ground.

Mary obviously understood much could not be said in front of the little ones because she accepted my words casually.

“Please, Mary, can you get some food up here for us? The kids insisted on staying in the room with their Mum and I know for a fact that their Mum would want them to have some food after school lunch.” I explained apologetically, letting her know it was not intentional to stress her up the stairs when I already noticed her knees were not really strong for the exercise.

“Sure, Mr. Fernandez. I will make rice right away.” Mary promised and I smiled.
