Chapter 13

I turn back and shine the light on the source ,but nothing more except the bark of a tree comes to my sight. So I hold my chest, to stabilize my rapid breathing. Maybe I am just thinking too much. But then the sound of something crack catches my attention and I look frantically here and there. Someone is here. "Who's there?" I shout, but no one responds. My legs start walking ahead, my vision entering the darker parts of the wood. I shouldn't have come here. I should be going back. But everything is so dark that I can't even remember my way back to the mansion. 

All of a sudden, a loud growl hits my ears and I squinch at the sound. My heart beat catches it's pace and without a second thought, I start running. I don't know where I am going,but more and more trees invite my sight, enveloped with the darkness of the evening. No one will be able to hear me at this moment,when I am so deep in this forest. Will I even be able to come out? What if I am lost here f
