Conan's declaration II

As I drove home in Conan's car, I mulled over all that had happened at the festival, Conan's declaration, being harassed by a stranger and being saved by that same stranger's brother.

It's always one thing or the other in this pack. I thought to myself, the driver turned off the road into my apartment's parking lot.

Just as I got out of the car, my phone began to ring. I looked down at the caller's ID to see that it was Helene calling.

"Hey babe," I said as I put the phone to my ear.

"Hi. How are you?"

"Still upset at you for leaving so suddenly after spending less than four hours with me," I pouted as I locked the car's doors and walked up the driveway to my apartment's door.

"I'm really sorry, hon. I had an emergency at work, one I could not ignore. Trust me, I had planned to at least spend a couple of days with you so I was also very disappointed when I had to leave."
