I settled into a chair in the living room, my thoughts still grappling with the day's events.

My meeting with the rogue king still played in my mind over and over again. I mused over it, confused and exhausted. I thought I knew everything about the pack, after all, I was both its Alpha and its Beta.

The fact that I hadn't known about the rogues that had been kicked out bothered me endlessly. It also bothered me that I wasn't certain if Shade had been lying or not.

Shade, Jade and the Williams… they all took space in my mind as I tried to catch some sleep on the too-small couch.

2 hours earlier

As I got into my car and began to drive back, I kept on watching over my shoulder to make sure I wasn't being followed.

Was what I was told true? Or could Shade have been lying? I've never seen records of what Shade claims had happened. An event that led to a number of wolves all being kicked out at once should have been recorded. Or at the very least, should have been gossiped about. B
