Chapter 23- The Counter-attack

A smile emitted from Dohana before she coldly said, "I don't think you have a say regarding that. I got this job on merit, so I'm staying."

Jake was seething with resentment as he stared at Dohana. 

"Dohana, we have history, don't you understand? We can't work together."

"Maybe you can't, but I can. By the way, I already told mother-in-law that I got this job yesterday and she said father-in-law was very proud of me. So, don't you even think of firing me." Dohana strode out of the office thereafter, leaving Jake completely dumbstruck.

'Dohana, you think you're smart? You won't get away with this I promise you.' Jake gathered his thoughts.

When Jake left that office, she saw Dohana happily chatting with her colleague
