Lilliana’s POV

Groaning, my eyes fluttered open and I shut them back as I tried to regain my consciousness fully. My head pounded but it felt light at the same time.

Closing my eyes, I tried to remember everything that happened last night but all I knew was the fact that I eventually got caught by the guards.

This is why you should always plan properly before trying to run away.

I opened my eyes again and everywhere felt foreign to me, it was hard to reconcile my thoughts and the environment felt extremely strange.

The walls were blue and white, completely different from Nikolai’s or my room and I was also wearing a change of clothes.

“Hello?” I tried to call but my voice was lower than I intended it to be and it wasn’t until I looked properly that it dawned on me that I was in a hospital room.

“What’s going on? Why am I here?” I asked the nurse that worked in and she was only smiling at me like her ability to speak has been taken away from her.
