Chapter Twenty-three

Elsa's POV

Nia looked at me with a concerned expression, "What's wrong Elsa? Why do you want to leave? You can tell me anything."

I tried to speak, but my words came out in a stutter, "I...I... I can't stay here any longer."

Nia placed a comforting hand on my shoulder and led me to the bed. "Just take a deep breath and calm down. Tell me what's wrong."

I closed my eyes, trying to calm myself down, but I couldn't shake the fear that was gripping me. "I...I'm scared. I can't be here anymore."

Nia's embrace didn't do much to ease my fear. Every time I closed my eyes, I could see the Alpha's face, hear his voice, and feel his hands on my skin. The memory of his attempted assault made me shiver with fear.

"I know it's scary, Elsa, but you don't have to be afraid. The King won't let anything happen to you," Nia said, trying to reassure me.

But her words fell on deaf ears. I couldn't help but feel that I was in danger, that something bad was going to happen to me.
