Kaden’s POV:

I was worried to death. My mind couldn't stop wandering around the place. What the hell was happening? Maybe this level of worry would be the death of me.

Due to the worry and my sudden inability to stay at a place for a minute, I stood up from where I was and went to stand close to lan's bed in the hospital. I stood patiently, waiting for him to wake up.

He was putting on an oxygen mask to support his breathing but I could notice the steady rise and fall of his chest.

"He has been poisoned," the doctor said as he came inside the ward. I didn't notice that the door opened because I was lost in my private thoughts.

"Poisoned?" I blurted out and the doctor scribbled something on a piece of paper. I didn't bother to know what he wrote. He didn't show me either. Maybe it was something exclusive to him.
