Chapter 36

Leah POV

Today started awfully but it ended in a good way. I couldn't tell if it was because Damian had given me the factory to manage or because of the acceptance I got from his men earlier, but I was happy.

As I walked to my room, humming a sweet song, I remembered Stephanie's face when Damian had called my name. She looked so pissed off, I was shocked she did not blow up out of anger.

I giggled just by thinking about it. It's been a long time since I played a trick on her and I felt like doing so again just to get a reaction out of her. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Evelyn looking at me with a worried expression. I could tell she was being concerned by my outbursts.

My stomach rumbled and I remembered that I was a little hungry after everything that happened today. I turned to Evelyn.

“Can you get me a plate of food from the kitchen?” I implored. She nodded and left immediately without hesitation.
