Chapter 2

Akihiro’s Point Of View

The loud music echoed the whole bar as the people became more wild and rough. I took a sip from my glass of Martini while looking down the dance floor from the VIP room on the second floor. Many pretty girls are wearing tight fitted mini dress.

“Like the view?” Zyrex teasingly asked, my colleague.

“Just the common sight,” I boringly answered.

Night life was always been the same for me. Looking at those liberated girls, flirt with them, and make-out. Nothing new.

“How about that sexy lady on the counter? She’s been looking at you for some minutes already.” I looked at the counter and saw a girl sipping her drink then licked the tip of the glass.

I shrugged my shoulder and raised my glass at her. She seductively smiled after what I did. I took off my gaze from her and roamed my eyes around the dancefloor.

“Want that chick?”

“Nah, overused.” I jokingly said that earned a laugh from Zyrex.

After some minutes of looking around, I decided to go back to the couch. Bar is my favorite place after working at the hospital. There were many workloads and patients. Though many nurses are beautiful and sexy, I still can’t enjoy due to the rule of having no affair to any employee. That sucks.

“Aki, why won’t you go to the dancefloor and play?” Miguel suggested while his hands are busy roaming around the body of the woman beside him.

Tss, this punk.

“Right. I should go get some fun.”

I stand and left them with their girls for tonight. Actually, it's still early for the usual time of partying. It’s still 10 in the evening. As soon as I step on the ground floor, many eyes landed on me. I let my playful smile out and start attracting girls. A sexy blonde immediately made her way towards me.

I sat on the stool near the counter and waited for her to come closer. But before she could, she slipped on the floor, earning a gasp and laugh from the people who witnessed.

“What the heck!” she angrily shouted.

The waiter handed me a whisky.

“Just who the hell spill this fucking liquid here!”

Even though the lights were dim, I can still picture out her pissed reaction. Tsk, clumsy girl. Minus points. I was about to turn around and find someone new when a short man wearing a big jacket and a bull cap showed up in front of her.

“Are you the manager?”

“No, Ma’am.” I was a bit surprised. This man has a soft voice. Most of the people are putting their attention to the two.

“Of course, such a disgusting human. Call your manager and I’ll make a complaint about this carelessness!” she desperately said.

“I don’t think it’s our fault. We put a sign but still you walk on it,” the small man casually answered.

Come on, I wasn’t here to watch a girl fight!

“You’re talking back? Don’t you know—”

“If I were you, you should get going to that man before others will. For atleast once, use your brain.”

My mouth literally went O. This person is brave enough to tell those words. The blonde looked at my direction. I raised my glass at her.

She’s humiliated, I know.

“You, wench!” She stomped her feet before turning around and walked out.

I chuckled a little. She’s a brat, but that does not bother me anyway. I just want one night stand.

The whole evening went the same. I got two woman but then decided not to bring them anywhere. I just realized that I still need to check the papers in the hospital and prepares for an operation tomorrow. What a busy life.

Morning came and I’m still on my glasses, reading the proposals and ongoing projects of our hospital. After an hour, I need to go down to the third floor where the operation will take place.

I stand up from my chair and stretched my arms. I picked my phone up and dialed Dr. Antonia’s number. She’s one of the board members and also my mentor.

“Did you have fun last night?” she started after answering the call.

“No, I’m a good boy.”

I took off my glass and grab my white coat.

“You’ll have your operation later?”

“Yeah, about that.” I softened my voice and went out my office.

”I don’t like the tone you're using, young man.”

“Well, about the operation. Can you assist?”

She sighed on the other line. I can even see her face while shooking her head sideways.

“Can’t do anything about that. Wait for me in my office,” she said then hang up.

I put my phone inside my coat and immediately went down the third floor. When I enter the elevator, I saw a nurse inside in her fitted uniform. I calm myself and gently walked in.

“Good morning, Dr. Aki,” she greeted using her sweet and soft voice.

“Yeah, thanks to you. My morning finally went good,” I said.

She lowered her head down and keeps on smiling. Tss, girls. After the elevator opened, I immediately step out and fixed my hair. I’m sleepy, I need coffee. Many greeted and can only answer them with a nod. My body’s tired. If I only sleep on my vacant hours last night and did not went out, I won’t be this tired. Tsk, lesson learned.

When I finally arrived at Dr. Antonia’s office, I then let my body fall on her soft couch. Jeez, I really need energizer. I closed my eyes for a minute but before I drifted in to sleep, the door suddenly opened, harshly.

That made me startled and abruptly sit. I saw the person who came and casually walked in and sit on the other side.

“Are you the doctor?” the girl asked.

I composed myself and scanned her from head to toe. She looks like she doesn’t know fashion.

“Obviously?”

The girl nodded in response. She took off her bull cap, revealing her long curly hair being tied up.

“I guess you already have an idea why I am here, right?”

“I’m a doctor, not a fortune teller.”

“You’re not but I think you’re profession says it all, am I right?” she questioned.

Oh, she’s here for Dr. Antonia. I forgot that this isn't my office.

“Oh, my bad. I know what you want,” I said when I finally realized what she want to.

She looked away and gulped. I smiled triumphantly. Dr. Antonia specialized in maternal. Maybe she’s pregnant.

“How many months?”

“I don’t know. Why are you asking me that? You’re the doctor.”

I stand up from the couch and folded my arms in front. Let me play with this unfashioned woman.

“You still don’t know, huh?”

“That’s why I’m here,” she said as a matter of fact.

“When did you last do it?”

“Do what?”

“That thing. Don’t let me say it,” I chuckled. Her stern look remain the same. Her eyes were looking at me like I’m an alien.

“If you assumed that I am pregnant then stop it. I am not. I am not yet.” Her last words are almost whispers but still enough for me to hear.

“Yet?”

If she isn’t here for any pregnancy check-ups then... maybe it’s for the alternative way. I showed an amused smile.

“Surrogacy?”

“Can we finish this immediately, Doctor?”

My smile never left my face and fastly sat across her chair.

“Sure will, but first...”

She boringly looked at me.

“Let me check you down there,” I said with a mischievous grin.

Her small eyes got bigger as her lips parted apart from each other.
