Chapter 4

I hardly pulled out the cotton on its container as well as the alcohol. I harshly took his arm and put it on the countertop. If it weren’t because of Ketish’s wish, I will not apply first aid on him.

“Why are you mad?” he asked as if he did nothing wrong.

“Nothing.” I pushed the cotton on his wound and showers the alcohol in it.

“Aw, careful. That hurts,” he complaint.

“Good for you,” I murmured.

“You know what, instead of cursing me, why wouldn't you thank me?”

“Are you high? I will thank you? For what? For making me feel embarrassed and less?” I angrily aswered, reffering to what he did on the hospital.

“My apologies. I didn’t know you’ll agree,” he reasoned out.

“Taking advantage to those people who had less knowledge, huh?” I pulled out the cotton and started cleaning the side of the wounded area. Luckily, the cut were not too deep. That kid needs attention and discipline.

“I’m sorry, really.”

“Whatever.” I took the bandage and started covering it.

“Are you still up for surrogacy?”

“Why do you care?” He sighed then looks around. The party was still going on like nothing happened. Well, that doesn't bother them anyway.

“You can’t stay in this place while you are pregnant. Surrogacy is a ‘lil bit complicated and needs a lot of rest and care.”

After covering the wound, I immediately put the medicine back to its kit.

“Who said I’ll still continue?”

“Why wouldn't you?”

“Your hospital is the only hospital in this country who offers surrogacy. Do you think after what happened that day I still trust your hospital?”

“That is only me, Ms. One punch girl. That doesn’t mean that I’m rude, the other doctors are too. Don’t be hasty,” he defended.

I gazed at him thoroughly. I have many things in mind to say to him but still chose to stay silent. It will just tire me.

“That does not matter anyway. Let’s just not cross paths again,” I said before leaving him behind.

Just I took my three steps away, girls quickly come closer to his seat. A typical rich bachelor.

“Did you saw Ketish?” I asked one of my co-worker. I saw her earlier talking to a tall man.

“I saw her entering her office.” I nodded and thanked him.

My next job is an hour later. It’s not that far but it will surely take some minutes of walking.

“Ketish?” I knocked and slowly opened the door. I saw her sitting on her swevil chair and looking at nowhere.

“Hey, Ketish!” She was startled and came back to her senses.

“Mel! You’re done already?” I nodded. I sat across her chair.

“Be careful on your way to the mart, alright? Don’t you dare turn off your phone,” she reminded.

“Yeah, sure. What happened to the kid?”

“I sent him home. Uh, no. His brother was there, have you seen him?” I shrugged. I don’t even know that kid though his feature is quite familiar.

“How about you?” She was startled with my sudden question.

“M-Me? What about me?”

I hissed at her reaction. This woman is vulnerable.

“Did you saw him?”

“Saw who?” She tried to busy herself on the papers on the top of the table and avoid that topic.

“Nothing. Just don’t let your emotions ruin you again,” I said before bidding my goodbye.

After I changed my clothes, I hurriedly went out the bar. Mostly, midnight until dawn, is when the bar is full and wild. I held the strap of my backpack tight. I will walk alone down the street in the middle of the night. It’s scary at first but as the days goes by, I’m getting used to it.

I was busy minding my own business and looking around the luxurious cars parked on the side of the bar. How does it feel to own one?

I was about to reach the waiting shed when I heard noises from the limousine beside a sports car.

“Is this all you’ve got?” a man said with an intimidating voice. The hair in my arms slightly stood up due to the seriousness of his voice.

My footsteps were getting slow as I am getting closer towards their direction. I don’t want to eavesdrop but I am also afraid that they’ll see me pass by.

“Yeah, maybe—” A loud sound of punch cuts what he supposedly say. I took a step backward. This isn’t the first time I saw someone fight and trash talking each other, but I guess, this one is different.

“You even let your brother made a mess in the bar. Such a useless human.”

After that, silence occurred until the limousine started its engine and left. I just stand there for how many seconds until I finally moved my feet to walk. I still have job to attend.

While walking, I can’t help but to curiously looked at the side of the sports car. Mostly, people who were defeated are left alone, wounded. And I wasn’t wrong. I saw someone standing and facing his back at me.

“Hey,” I called when I recognized his polo, but he did not turn back.

“Are you hiding?”

“Hiding what?” he chuckled.

“Your bruises?” He hissed and faced me. I saw a bruise on the side of his left eyebrow.

“Why would I? Having bruises means I am a bad boy and that makes a man more hot.” I unbelievably shook my head.

“I don’t have first aid kit.”

He laughed. “Tsk, I don’t need that. I won't die just because of this little wounds.”

“But you’ll die because of the harshness of words,” I said.

He smirked and leaned his back on the car.

“Eavesdropping, huh?” he teased. I shrugged and also leaned on the hood of his car.

“I accidentally heard it, sorry.”

Instead of getting angry, his grin grew bigger.

“Wow, it’s nice hearing you say sorry.” I made a facepalm.

“I’m being serious, you scumbag. Tsk, you just wasted my time,” I quickly stand and started walking away.

“Thank you for stopping by, Ms. One punch girl!” he shouted.

“I have a name!”

“I also have too! Akihiro! Not a superman nor a batman but still a Hiro. You’re Hiro, exclusively for you!”
