The weekend flew by in a blur and Reese was feeling much better, thanks to Lucy who cheered her up all through the weekend.

It was Monday again and Reese had resumed work. She was in Axel’s office with Tom and they had just concluded their routine Monday morning meeting.

“You have a meeting with the research team in less than one hour.” Tom reminded Axel as he leapt to his feet.

Axel nodded his head. “I know.”

“See you later then.” Tom said, nodding his head, as he turned on his heel and started trudging to the door.

Reese also leapt to her feet and started trailing behind Tom, but she stopped in her track when Axel called her name. “Ms. McBride.”

She turned to look at him. “Yes? Mr. Griffin.”

“Can I see you for a second?” He asked.

She pressed her lips together knowing that being in a closed room with Axel at that moment wasn’t a good idea—they would either fight or get in each other’s pants and she didn’t want neither to happen.
