"Mom, are you even listening to me?" Delilah yelled, causing Natalia to snap back into reality.

"Delilah, who told you all this?" Natalia said slowly, her voice shaky as she spoke.

"Can you please just let me know that it's just not true so that I can be calm, mom? You're my mom, right?" Delilah asked.

"Sweetie, I want you to calm down, okay?" Natalia said, standing up slowly.

"Mom, you're shaking. Why are you shaking? Is it because you're disappointed in me for not dismissing the rumours immediately? I'm sorry." Tears started to form in Delilah's eyes.

"Promise me that you would not freak out. I am here for you, all the time. I am your mom, Delilah. Nobody can love you more than me." Natalia said slowly, still in her initial position.

Delilah stood up.

"You're lying. It's either you're lying, or you're keeping something from me. Something that I'm supposed to know, or you would ha e debunked all those things immediately I said them."
