Melted Nightmare

The smell of ocean was unique. It had the taste of salt, the peaceful ambience, and a unique scent of ocean water. She paced over the wooden floors, looking over to the sailors who were busy exchanging conversation.

As she made her way to her room, she made sure her steps were silent. She didn’t want to wake up the person who she had left asleep when leaving the room earlier.

“Leaving me the first thing once you wake up,” said Dominic. His deep voice echoed across the wooden walls, making her shiver. She stared at his black eyes, smiling in response to his teasing grin.

“I thought you might need to change your bandage to a fresh one,” she lifted her hand where it was holding a bandage.

“Yes, I do need it,” Dominic pushed himself from the bed, leaning his back to the headboard while Rose prepared the scissors and the ointment that she had been told to use over his wound.
