Chapter 31

Liam sat on the edge of his bed, his phone clutched tightly in his hand, while a torrent of emotions churned within him. Regret weighed heavily on his conscience.

"Look, what we did wasn't right, Vienna, and I feel bad about it," Liam finally mustered the words, his voice tinged with guilt. "I am sorry it happened in the first place. I should have kept my shit in place."

He had been thinking about the event of the previous night and he realised he had messed up.

Vienna, on the other end of the call, feigned sadness, her voice carrying a tone of contrition. "It's fine, Liam. I understand. We were both carried away," she replied, her words laced with a false sense of regret. "It's all my fault, Liam. I should have knocked before coming in. I should not have barged in on you just like that." She sniffed, adding fabricated whimpers to her act.
