"But, Young Master... It's your birthday today," Ben said to him. Niel gazed up to look at Ben and gave him an innocent look. The look of a helpless child. Ben quickly squatted down to match his height with the seven years old Niel.
"They said that they need to leave," Niel said softly to him.
Ben stared at his parents that were still arguing on who should stay behind to accompany Niel for his birthday.
"Excuse me, Mrs Hampton and Master William," Ben tried to grab their attention but they ignored him as if he was a shadow.
Ben looked at Niel again and saw the hurtful gaze in his eyes. 'How can they do that in front of a seven years old child? Arguing on a matter of who should stay behind to celebrate their own son's birthday. Aren't they feel sorry for Young Master? He might be just a seven years old kid, but he had feelings too,' Ben murmured internally as he saw the couple kept arguing nonstop.
