2 - The Party

Despite not wanting to party, I was ready one hour later in a sexy red dress that just about covered my ass. I wore my black high heels and my lips were painted the same red as my dress. Whether I liked it or not, I looked like a force to be reckoned with. I didn’t look like someone whose mate had rejected her.

Kate threw a last minute party only to cheer me up. I loved that girl more than anything. She was my rock over the last three years without even realising it. As I walked out, the party was already in full swing and Kate walked towards me with two shot glasses in her hand.

I downed one shot, and before she could take hers, I downed that as well.

“Whoa, girl, take it easy,” Kate muttered as Eric walked towards me whistling. Eric was the flirt of the university. He looked like the classic American boy – blond hair, blue eyes and he was very charming.

“Hey, sexy,” he said as he reached us, and Kate immediately walked away. “Can I get you another drink?”

“It’s my house, Eric,” I chucked, already feeling the effects of the alcohol. Nonetheless, I let him drag me to our dining table, which had become the makeshift bar. I poured myself a whiskey, taking note of how Eric was moving closer to me every second.

Just as I was about to ask him to move, ‘Whistle’ started playing and I downed my whiskey, pulling him to the dance floor with me. I moved close to him, feeling how turned on he was, as I grinded my body against him. I could feel his hardness on my thigh, stomach, and I smirked. Maybe tonight was the night I’d get some.

I got on my toes, and just as I was about to kiss him a burst of awareness rushed through me. I didn’t feel drunk anymore and every nerve in my body wanted to get away from Eric. I opened my eyes and looked at the door, only to see Cale walk in.

His eyes swept the entire place, before landing on me and narrowing. I smirked and looked away, pressing myself harder to Eric. I bit his earlobe, and heard him groan. I could feel Cale’s eyes on me as if trying to make me burst into flames.

This was getting too much, I wasn’t someone who could play games like these. I moved away, needing to get out, or better yet, get another drink.

“I’m going to get a drink,” I yelled above the music to Eric, and walked off without waiting for his reply.

I poured myself whiskey, downing it. I still felt off, so I poured another one, and before I could drink, it was snatched away from my hand.

“Hey!” I protested, turning to see who it was. Cale. My wolf leapt up, and my heart sped up.

“That’s enough drinking for tonight, I think,” Cale said, walking to the sink and pouring the alcohol down.

Even though every part of me was overjoyed, I worked on keeping my voice even, “You’re no one to decide for me, Cale. I’ll drink as much as I like.”

And to prove my point, I took another and started opening the whiskey bottle. Cale’s eyes narrowed, and he took the bottle, almost smashing it on the table. He took my hand and dragged me into my bedroom.

“You’re already drunk,” he stated as he closed the door.

“And?”

“You were almost having sex with Eric on the dance floor,” his stormy grey eyes narrowed in anger.

“Last I checked, I was a single girl, babe,” I quipped, feeling quite proud of myself for even being able to say that.

Cale walked towards me, and I moved back into the wall. “Eric is not a good guy, Lisa.”

“So? Just because you don’t want me, doesn’t mean others don’t, Cale.”

He ran his hand through his hair, and I could feel every inch of him, being trapped by the wall and him. My nipples perked up, and I looked at him. His eyes, his lips. What I wouldn’t do to kiss him, and have him take me against the wall.

Anger flashed on his face, and before I realised what was going on his lips were on mine. My hands moved into his hair and I pulled him closer as his tongue entered my mouth. My entire body was on fire, and my lips were in heaven.

Cale… wait, Cale? What the fuck was I doing? I was kissing the person who had rejected me. I pushed him away. He looked just as dazed as I felt right now.

“Don’t you ever do that again,” I stated, as I walked out of the room.
