Preparing To Meet Her Mother

The night breeze caressed her skin as the moon—high up in the night sky, adorned the open window of her hotel room where a table for two was set up for her and Eon. A glorious spread of her favorite foods was laid on the table, a bottle of wine was opened and Eon was sitting across from her, attentively taking care of her wants even before it leaves her mouth.

“Really? What is this magic?” She sighed, annoyed. She dropped her fork and knife beside her plate and glared at Eon.

“Babe, there is no magic. It is what is it.”

“What do you mean?”

Eon chuckled in amusement. Lina was too charming for her own good. Her pouting and throwing a tantrum over every little thing tickles Eon’s heart. “You see, our kind were more receptive to the emotions and feelings of the others.” He put a piece of meat on her plate, and said, “yours were leaking all over the place.” He poured her glass more wine. “But don’t worry, you can learn to hide your thoughts in no time.”
