I decided to take Charles' offer up and started the bath. I filled it with nice hot water and turned the jets on. I shot awake, almost headbudding Charles as I sat up quickly. I was breathing fast, still feeling the remnants of my panic attack. I thought of Heli, and I could still feel her touch on my chest. My heart felt warm, and filled with love. Heli had healed me in a way. "Breath" Charles looked so concerned. "You fainted for a few minutes. I called a couple people. They'll be here soon to check you out. Nate is on his way too. I need you to breathe. Focus on breathing in and out. That's the only thing you need to think about right now." His voice was soothing. Rays of sun peaked in through the shades waking me up early. It was about 6 o’clock in the morning, which felt too early to be awake after last night. I tried to fall back asleep, but it was pointless. Heli was restless, I hadn’t let her out since our first night on campus and with everything going on she could really use a run. I snuck out not wanting to wake Charles up. I left a little note, telling him I would be running through the fairy trail for about an hour. I told him not to worry, fully knowing that he will worry anyway. I was sure I’d get an earful from him when I returned. I won’t mind it though, in fact I kind of like it when Charles scolds me. I decided not to stay locked away in the apartment anymore. Since Luke was going to be running free, so will I. I told Charles I would be going back to classes and he lost it on me again. Telling me it was a bad idea. “I can’t just never go to classes again. We are majoring in the same thing. We will probably have classes together for the next few years. I don’t like it either but I refuse to stay locked away. He doesn’t scare me anymore, but I’ll stay away. I have sent emails to my professors about the situation and they assure me that they will keep us separated.” I defended myself. “I still don’t like it.” He muttered, but ultimately caved in, realizing I was right. “I’ll make sure to be in the building in case anything happens.” He assured me. “I need more lab time anyway.” With that I headed to my class. I was excited to see what Star had found. My father never did tell me much about his family. I would ask questions but he would avoid them or change the topic completely. My mother would always just tell me it was complicated. I had always been curious about the Lancaster name. Star arrived about an hour after we got home. I was dying waiting for her to get here. The first thing I did when I awoke was check my email. Charles was right and classes had been canceled for today as well. I was curious and excited to see what all Charles and I could get up to when we had a whole day to ourselves. Charles had made us breakfast and we sat around talking about my crazy lineage. "I wonder if I can do magic?" "Probably, it's somewhere in you. Maybe you should take a witch class?" Charles suggested and I nodded my head in agreement. I thought that was a pretty good idea. I figure Star could probably teach me elf stuff and magic. Whenever she had free time again. I looked at Charles who was watching me carefully with intense eyes. My cheeks flushed under his gaze. I wondered what he was thinking. "What's on the agenda today?" I asked, curious if he had any plans. "I need to use this time to get caught back up on my lab study. They are letting us use the lab in the chemistry wing on campus for now." My heart sank as the idea of a day together vanished.

I woke up the next morning ready to go back to in person classes. When I got to class no one gave me side looks or whispered my name to one another. I sat toward the front again just in case Luke showed up. This time he did come. He stopped at the doorway staring at me for a long while before coming in and taking a seat in the back. I could feel his eyes on me throughout class, but I tried hard to pay him no mind. I kept focused on the professor and our lecture. I bolted out of there the moment the professor said we could leave. I refused to let Luke try to talk to me or corner me somewhere. Charles wasn't happy when I told him Luke was in class today. "Can't you finish that class online? I am sure Dr Garvey wouldn't mind." Charles didn't want me to be in class with Luke anymore. "I am not sure, but I don't want Luke to think that he can run me out. Plus we'll more than likely have classes together in the future. The man looked so much like my father that I almost ran into his arms. He had short spiky brown hair like him and light blue eyes. His cheeks had freckles sprawled throughout just as my father and I do. Unlike my father he had a longer, sharper nose and a strong jaw line. A few wrinkles lined his face.
