Chapter 42

The expression on Caleb’s face instantly turned gloomy, but the speaker didn’t notice him.

Ember was also getting a headache when she noticed Caleb’s sudden anger. She didn’t expect that everything would happen at the same time. She then gave Lugh an apologizing look.

The salesman was still trying to sell, as if he couldn’t see the conflict brewing between them.

Caleb took a step forward and instantly got closer to Ember, shortening their distance. Then, he rejected the salesman. “No thanks, since this man is an outsider. I’m not so generous to let my wife take a picture with someone else.”

Only then did the salesman seem to have realized what was going on, and looked at them with wide eyes. Then, he quickly apologized. “I’m so sorry, sir. I didn’t know.”

And then, as if he was trying to salt Caleb’s wounds, the salesman was still mumbling something as he left.

“That’s weird. Those two look more like husband and wife.”

Caleb was at the verge of exploding, but Avery was giggling
