Chapter Forty Three

Klaire's POV

The ceremony will happen today and it will take place in Mountain Peak's training field because it is the biggest place they have. It was cleaned and designed early in the morning and we all helped in decorating it. And even if it's a ceremony to welcome us and for Leonel to bind himself with us, they weren't able to stop our cooks from helping in the kitchen.

I guess even if we are no longer slaves, our bodies still move automatically and I have a feeling that most of us will still choose to serve the pack. After all, they made us believe that it's our only purpose in life. It's in our blood and it's all we know.

It did not take an hour before the area was ready for the ceremony. Everyone's excited as we put on the ceremonial scarves for the occasion. It is a cream-colored scarf with Mountain Peak's logo on both sides.
