It's Time

ATHENA'S POV

“Athena. Athena.” I heard a voice as soft as a whisper, call out to me.

I looked around, on my feet, and unable to decipher where I was at that moment. The only thing that was clear to me was that I could be in the woods.

I was barefoot, so I could feel the sand beneath my legs. And the sound of the crickets chirping and other night insects.

I was too scared to speak out to ask who was calling me, and I was without my cane. How did I get here?

Having to go around, or trying to find a safe spot here could be difficult as I wasn't familiar with this place. I moved my hands around as I moved my legs further to ensure that I wasn't going right into a tree.

Suddenly, I felt someone's light tap on me and I screamed, and sat abruptly, with my chest, heaving up and down.

Sweat trickled down my chin, and dropped on my night gown.

“You had a bad dream?” Daniel asked, in a concerned tone.

“Y…yeah… I guess so.” I responded, and wiped off the sweat on my face.
