Chapter 3

“It was.”

I sat on the edge of my seat, my fingers literally digging into the leather of the chair. This is it if she tells me who it is at least I’d be one step closer to catching the culprit.

“He told me I wanted it, but I didn’t. He made me feel special.”

“You didn’t deserve this Kat , now tell me who it is so we could give him what he deserves.”

“He said you’ll never get him even if I tell you who he is. No one would ever believe me.”

“I believe you Kat, now tell me so we can get him. The warriors and I would get him.”

“It’s A..”

“Kat, doctor.” I shouted at the same time.

I jumped to my feet and ran over to Kat who’s now catching a seizure. She starts shaking and frothing from her mouth, the look in her eyes before she close them.

Told me one thing, whoever it was instilled so much fear into her, that even as she was about to call his name her brain went into overdrive and shot down. Kat slipped into a coma, Dr. Roberts said that the memory of the experience was too much for her to relive and her brain shot down.

The report said the same thing as the other victim from a couple months ago, clean fingernails, cut across the face from a silver object and she smelt like mens perfume.

Before leaving for alphas James office I looked at young kat one last time, my heart sank a little as I saw the cords running up her body. The drive to Alpha James office was confusing, I had too much on my mind. Just the fact that rouges were roaming our pack grounds Odorless is mind blowing to me, because that would mean they were getting help from someone. But kat said it wasn’t a rogue,so then that would mean someone from our pack was harming their own pack members and I refused to believe that.

I got out of the car and headed straight to Alpha James' office. I had to stand outside and wait for a minute as he and Luna were discussing something, and it sounded pretty heated.

I stood aside when I heard the office door open and slammed a shot sending an echo through the fourth floor. Luna Marisa came rushing out like a thunderstorm crying.

“Luna, you dropped this.” I said, handing her the little envelope that fell from her hand.

“Ohh thanks beta Brandon. By the way did you go see Kat, how is she?”

“She went into a coma a short while ago.”

“A coma.” She was trembling and sorrow took over from the anger,

“Luna you alright.”

“Yeah I’m fine. I’ll take my leave now.” And with that she left, Alpha called me into his office and I entered. He had some files laid out in front of him and from what I saw before he quickly closed them were pictures of young she wolves.

And it looked like he was looking at Kat's file.

I dismissed the idea of Alpha James hurting kat, heck he’s our alpha after all. He’s supposed to protect us and keep us safe.

He gestured to me to take a seat and I did. We started talking and I told him everything that Kat had said. He dropped his head into his hands and let out a loud sigh. It almost sounded like he,was relieved of his stress, but that can’t be right, he then looked up at me with a frown.

“We were this close to finding out who he is, this close. And where is Kat, I’ll go see her.” He said.

“She wouldn’t be seeing visitors for a little while; she's went into a coma. Whoever did that to her had her so afraid that even when she was about to say his name she caught a seizure.”

“This is tiring. I really just want to get this over with, but it seems as if this person is taunting us.

Out right taunting us, he’s saying he can't be caught.”

“If it’s one thing I learned over all these years it's that everyone makes mistakes, it’s just a matter of when. And when he does I’ll catch him.”

I sat at my desk and kept racking my brain, again and again. I couldn’t figure it out, I just couldn’t piece it together. The only pattern that stood out to me the most were their ages and ranks.

They are usually between the ages of 16-17 and rank in the lowest in our pack, omegas.
