Chapter 6

Abigail's p.o.v;

It's been a week since I joined the photography club and got to know the members of it. Totally it has seven members including Sebastian, our phototherapy club representative and Ariana, Damien, Luna, John, Axel and myself. Since it was a small number of people, I adapted to it quickly.

I still have my doubts about joining it in the beginning. In all honesty, there's not much reason for me to join them as I don't even know anyone well or at all in the club. So far everyone has seemed nice enough, but when I asked why they signed up they didn't seem too sure of themselves.

I'm currently sitting on one of the chairs in front of the table with the photography club members where I usually sit during lunchtime. The club is meeting right now and we have a new member joining today.

I look over at Mr. Bouchard and he seems like he's waiting for someone from the other side of the room so I turn my attention towards the door instead. Mr Bouchard took out his sketchbook, opened it and started drawing something quickly with his pencil; probably some sort of scenery, I can't really see what it is from my angle. My eyes go back and forth between the picture he's drawing and the people around him while waiting for the new guy.

Sebastian took a seat beside me and asked, "You're early."

"Our teacher went to some meeting so i took off early." I replied.

Sebastian nods before turning his attention towards the door again, which is now opened and another boy enters. This must be the new member. His black hair is tied in an untidy ponytail that's falling down onto his face. He's wearing jeans, a white tee shirt and some converse sneakers that are dirty. It looks like he's walking slowly towards us because no one else has moved from their seats, including myself.

The stranger finally reached our table and looked towards where Sebastian was staring. His expression immediately turned into surprise followed by a small smile.

"Hey," he said, waving towards Sebastian. "I've heard lots about you."

"Likewise," Seb responded, giving him a small nod and then looking back down at his sketchbook. We all watched the guy stand there awkwardly for a moment until he decided to talk again.

"Um, my name is Ryan by the way," he said.

Sebastian gave a little introduction about the club and the members of it.

"Well anyways, if you guys could introduce yourself first, I'd appreciate it."

"Oh! Right!" Seb got up from his chair and made his way over towards Damien and said, "He's Damien and the one beside him was Axel, she's Ariana and the one beside her was Luna. This one is John and she's Abigail." When he introduced me, I nodded at him.

After Ryan took a seat among us, everyone started talking to him about the club.

While they were talking, I looked at Mr Bouchard who was busy drawing. After a while, he took off and walked out of the cafeteria. And I went back to Damien.

Damien asked me, "Where are you looking?"

I said back, "Mr Bouchard."

He took a look around and asked, "Where's he?"

"He left already. I wonder what he was drawing in his sketchbook today. Have you had a chance to look into it?"

"Do you think I can?" And laughed. "He doesn't even let students enter his office. Who would dare to touch his sketchbook in his absence?"

Seb, "Guys, we have a new member here. Is this what you want to look like?" And he continued talking to Ryan.

After the meeting ended, everyone started to leave and Seb asked me to stay behind.

Seb asked, "Have you taken the pictures of the school campus buildings?"

"In progress."

"Okay, finish it by this week. You can go to your class now."

When I came back to my class, I sat beside Luna and took out my books. Even though we're in the same club, I didn't talk to her since she's a werewolf.

I got caught by Aiden when I thought about werewolves in a bad way. He told me to get along well with the people around me so that it'll change my perspective on werewolves. He said to look at characters instead of the kind. I don't know if i could do that after all these years.

I asked Luna, "Hey Luna, have you finished taking the picture of the building on the school campus?"

"Not yet. I was busy with my assignment for the past week. Why?"

"Shall we do it together?"

She gave a nod with a smile and said, "When do you like to do it?"

"I'm free anytime."

She thought for a while and said, "Then shall we go together after the class ends?"

I gave a nod and said, "Yeah, it's okay for me."

"Alright then," she responded, "meet you in the art room after class." With that, she went back to doing her assignment.

After the last period bell rang, I packed up things and waited for Luna, when a tap on my shoulder made me turn around. It was Luna standing beside me.

"Hey Abigail," she said. "Ready to get started?"

I nodded and followed her to the Photography studio at the end of the hallway. We both walked inside quietly, only being loud enough to hear each other. When we got to the door, she took out her key and unlocked it with it. She turned on some light, and then looked over at me.

"Do you need any help?" she asked.

I shook my head and replied, "No."

She gave a nod and took out her camera and asked, "Shall we go?"

"Yeah."

Luna and I came to the main building and started our work. Luna asked, "Which lens are you going to use for building landscapes?"

"Fisheye lens. What about you?"

"Wide angle lens. Don't you think fish eyes will look more compressed?"

"It makes the centre objects huge and closer to the other objects curve off into infinity. I want my centre objects to be highlighted. That's why I chose this type of lens."

"But don't you think they'll get too far away from each other?"

"Of course not! Look at how the focus is on one side."

She squinted her eyes a bit, trying to see what I meant. I explained, "That means there's room for them to grow."

"Right," said Luna. "You're right." She walked around and searched for the best angle as I moved around on my own and looked at the camera, focusing in on it before setting up the focus.

While I was looking into the lens, I heard someone saying, "Cute."

"uh, what?" I turned around to see who it was.

Luna asked, "What is it?"

I looked around but Luna and I were the ones standing in front of the main building.

"I heard someone."

"but there's no one here except us." "Have you found the right angle?"

"Yeah, this spot." I pointed where I was standing and took a look around the place again.

We finished with our main building and headed to the playground.

Luna asked, "Shall we include pictures of the Playground in the building landscape?"

"Seb asked for a campus so we'll take the playground too."

After that, Luna and I got to the photography part of the job. We used photos taken in the woods around the campus. They had been edited out by now, but there was still a decent amount to edit out. There were also some background shots for the school buildings, and for the grounds around it.

We spent hours editing out all the bad photos and deleting them from the files. Then we went to look for usable photos for the other sections of campus. We found a few good ones, and deleted those. We even found a few nice ones and saved them. By then, it was time for the school to end.

Outside the school, while I was walking to the bus terminal I had the blabbering mouth tagging me along. Like always he was talking about something even though I'm not listening to him.

"Hey, Mike, why do you want to be friends with a human?"

"Because it's fun."

"Really?"

I wonder where's the fun in this. I only find it annoying.

"Spirit walkers always possess powerful special abilities when compared to other wolf packs. Since I belong to spirit walkers, everyone's excited to know what my special ability is."

"Don't people your age already obtain powers like that?"

He teased me again, "You always say you hate my kind but sound like you know more about it than me." He let out a sigh and continued, "Yeah, but the problem is I wonder whether I get my special abilities or not."

"Can I ask you something?"

"Yeah. What is it?"

"Why do you care about your status that much?"

"There's not much secrets in that. The spirit walkers were kinda ancient, where they still believe humans will bring trouble for us. Which made the spirit walkers considered above all packs. I have to maintain it in front of others. To be honest, I don't like it at all."

While i was listening to him, i heard the voice which i heard before while i was beside Luna.

'Cute'

I looked around but there was only me and Mike walking to the bus terminal. Where's this voice coming from? Shall I ask Mike about it? No, Luna didn't hear it when I asked her. Probably, Mike wouldn't hear it too. Or is it only in my head? But why is it only 'cute'

I shook away my thoughts and continued walking to the bus terminal while listening to the nagging of Mike.
