Meeting with Ex-husband's Uncle

"Jason! What are you doing with my sister?!" Anna shouted and opened the door wider.

Startling Jason and Dianne, who were in the room.

"Oh, you're home, my wife? How did it go? I bet the doctor said you weren't pregnant," Jason said with a grin.

Anna was stunned.

As if unperturbed, Jason continued to make love to Dianne.

"My step-sister, why are you standing there so still? Can you come out and leave us alone? Your husband and I haven't finished making love yet," Dianne said with an innocent look.

Her lips smiled in satisfaction at the look of hurt on Anna's face.

Anna shook her head weakly, her hands clenched tightly at her sides.

Nothing hurt more than seeing the man she loved having an affair with her half-sister.

"How could you do this to me? Get out of my room now, Dianne!" Anna's hands pushed Jason's chest away from Dianne.

Then Anna grabbed Dianne's hand roughly and pushed her out of the room.

That made Dianne rush to cover her body with a blanket while Jason quickly pulled on his shorts.

"Jason, help me, Anna's hurting me!" Dianne screamed at Jason as Anna continued to drag her out of the room.

"Anna! Don't hurt my girlfriend!" Jason pulled Anna's hand away from Dianne's, then pushed Anna back until Anna's back was almost against the wall.

"Your girlfriend? Jason, have you forgotten I'm your wife?"

"Yes, I remember. You are my wife. A barren and useless wife," Jason replied sarcastically.

His harsh words hurt Anna's feelings. Dianne, meanwhile, smiled crookedly. She wrapped her hand around Jason's arm.

"What did you say I was?" Anna's mouth fell open. She had never thought that Jason would have the heart to call her barren.

"Why? Can't you accept I call you barren? You are barren! I've lived with a stinking, boring, useless woman like you for five years!" Jason pointed his finger in Anna's face.

Anna shook her head slowly. "Jason, it's not you. You've said nothing rude to me. You've always accepted me and loved me for who I am."

"Do you think Jason loves you? He's tired of you, so he came to me and made me his." This time it was Dianne who spoke.

Anna's eyes glazed over.

"I have treated you very well, Dianne. Even though you're my step-sister, I love you like a real sister. I have always put you before myself. But this is what you give me in return?"

"Don't blame Dianne! Blame yourself for not taking care of your husband." All eyes turned to the voice.

It was Lea - Anna's mother-in-law - who came.

Lea approached Anna with her haughty face.

"Mom, why are you defending Dianne?"

"Because Dianne is a thousand times better than you!"

Anna's breath caught in her throat. Even her mother-in-law had joined in the criticism.

"How long have you been married to my son? Five years? But so far you haven't been able to give me any grandchildren. You can't provide a potential heir for the Bridges family," Lea said.

"I apologize. I promise that one day I'll be able to conceive and give you a potential heir. Please give me time."

"It's too late. Because Jason and I already got it from Dianne." Lea cut Anna off.

Anna's eyebrows shot up as Lea walked over to Dianne and gave her a warm hug.

It was a warm gesture that Lea had never given Anna.

"Dianne? What does that mean? I don't understand," Anna asked, confused.

Jason took one step closer to Anna. With a proud face, he said. "Dianne is pregnant with my child. She is two months pregnant. I don't want the future heir of the Bridges family to be born out of wedlock. That's why I want a divorce so that Dianne and I can get married as soon as possible."

Suddenly Anna's legs felt weak. Her chest felt like it was being stabbed with a very sharp object. It was painful.

So her husband had been having an affair with her half-sister all this time?

"Jason, before you married me five years ago, you promised never to hurt me in your life. But what are you doing now?"

"No need for drama, Anna! I won't go back on my word, even if you cry blood. I've prepared the divorce papers for you to sign." Jason entered the room.

After a few seconds, he returned with a divorce file in his hand. The file was then handed to Anna.

"Let's make this easy. Sign the divorce papers and get out of my house," Jason ordered.

Lea and Dianne had satisfied smiles on their faces.

"Come on, Anna! Do what your husband, I mean future husband, wants you to do," Dianne said deliberately, making Anna feel the heat in her chest even more.

Anna pressed her hands to her sides and looked at Jason with a disappointed look on her face. "Fine, I'll sign it."

"Good. Then do it quickly!"

Anna's hand took the pen and file from Jason's hand, and then she opened the divorce file and stared at it with bated breath.

Anna never thought this day would come in her life.

The only man she trusted was now mercilessly breaking her heart.

Everyone smiled as Anna scratched her signature on the divorce papers.

Anna lifted her face and handed the papers to Jason, saying. "I'm leaving. Thank you for the five years you've given me. But I want you to remember one thing, Jason. If you come back later to get down on your knees and apologize to me, it will be too late," Anna said as she turned and walked out of the house.

***

To forget her troubles, Anna goes to a bar and gets drunk, while the other bar-goers are busy dancing with their partners and friends.

But the loud music and a few glasses of alcohol can't erase the image of Jason and Dianne, who betrayed her.

"Hi, Miss. Why are you alone? Shall I accompany you?" a man with a lewd face approached Anna.

"Thank you. But I want to be alone."

"Come on, dear. I know you need company. I can be your friend tonight. Let's dance like the others," the man tried to pull Anna's hand to force her.

"Let go!" Anna rebelled.

"Don't be shy. I'll make sure we have a good time tonight." The man grinned as he continued to force Anna.

"Let her go!" came the baritone voice, warning the man.

Anna and all the bar patrons immediately turned their heads towards the entrance.

Their eyes widened when they saw who had arrived.

"It's Richard Anderson! The richest business owner in New York!"

"This is the first time I've seen his face in person. My God, he's so handsome."

The women squealed softly as they stared at Richard. His good looks had taken their breath away.

Most people in New York knew Richard Anderson. He was the CEO of The Glory Enterprise, the largest corporation in America.

Anna froze. Her eyes were looking directly at Richard.

"Uncle Richard Anderson, he came back to New York after three years in Paris?" Anna muttered to herself.

Richard was Jason's uncle. The man had disappeared from New York for many years to attend to his business in Paris.

And now he's back and in front of her?

"Don't you dare touch her if you don't want me to break your hand!" Richard grabbed the man's hand, his eyes staring intently.

Somehow, the man's guts immediately shrank and his face was suddenly frightened at the sight of Richard.

The man apologized to Anna and quickly left the bar.

"Anna, are you okay?" asked Richard.

Instead of answering Richard's question, Anna looked at the handsome man's face.

Looking at Richard, Anna had an idea to get back at Jason.

Jason and his mother were reluctant about Richard because Richard was the most influential man.

"Anna? What are you thinking about?" Richard frowned.

"Mr. Richard, touch me tonight," Anna said, then she stood on tiptoe and kissed Richard on the lips.

Richard was immediately surprised but did not refuse Anna's kiss. Meanwhile, the bar patrons watched the scene with wide-eyed shock.
