(Jade's POV)

“You have any siblings?" I continued my questions, following him to wherever.

This was definitely better than going to a farm.

“Yes, a sister. Our mother died while giving birth to her. We stay with our father" He answered.

What drew me to him was his simplicity. He didn't even mind talking to a complete stranger.

“I don't think there are any schools around here. Did you go to school in the city?" I asked.

“Yes, I couldn't complete middle and final year so I stayed back to help with the farm but my sister is in the city” He replied.

" So you are here catching fishes and tilling the earth just for her to go to school? That is not fair”

" She's my sister and I want what's best for her. Sometimes, you don't have to be selfish”

" But it's good to be selfish sometimes”

I couldn't remember some of the things we discussed but it felt like I've known him for the whole of my life.

" This is my house. My father isn't around. He is at the farm, giving a tour to some high school kids
