Chapter 12
A classical song that plays from the car's radio fills the comfortable silence that has fallen between Ri and I as he drives me home. I break away from my plaguing thoughts momentarily and notice that Ri seems to be absorbed in his thoughts as he drives.
His eyes are fixated and unblinking as he stares at the road. The passing glare from oncoming car headlights doesn't even seem to bother him. His forehead creased in concentration as his eyebrows knit together and his lips purse as he let out the faintest of sighs.
I was about to ask him what was on his mind but then a familiar street sign came into view making every muscle in my body tense again. The car came to a slow stop in my driveway.
Ri shuts the car engine down and when I'm about to thank him he turns and opens his car door getting out of the car. He walks over to the passenger's side and pulls open my door. I stare at him in confusion.

Dried up grass and broken tombstones cover the landscape from as far as the eye can see. The sound of the howling wind could easily be mistaken as the groans and moans of the dead that slumber below the dense soil. It's been two days since I've seen Ri. He hasn't made the jump for the last two nights and I can't stop thinking about him. The way his eyes turned cold and his jaw clenched when I told him I didn't need him around all the time. I have this constant urge to find him.
