Aethelfrith's POV
"Wait up, you are too fast, I can't catch up with you." I said to my best friend and brother, Leon while still trying to catch up with him."Why should I?See you at the house." He laughed then continued running. It was a daily routine for Leon and I to run round the forest every morning, we call it keeping fit but in reality we were just trying to train all our senses. I ran as fast as I could to get to the house before Leon.I entered the house, the maid giving me my face towel and bottle water, Leon following suit."That was a good run" Leon hit my chest playfully then chuckled."Yep, it could have been if you didn't cheat by using your powers ." I chuckled, dropping my face towel on the table."Aren't you going?" Leon aksed"Going where?" I asked him back"Today is your mom's death anniversary" Leon said"Ohh, that's right, today is really Lady Ambrosia's death anniversary but Leon you know I don't attend such occasions" I said, making a playful gesture with my face."Aethelfrith,I know you don't go but your mother, sister and betrothed misses you so much" Leon sat next to me on the couch."So?" I raised my eyebrows"What do you mean so?" Leon asked confusedly, he raised his eyebrows too."I mean what's yours exactly?" I said to him"My point is for the past few years you haven't been home, you haven't even met your betrothed and your mother and sister misses you, your father wishes to see you as his son" Leon raised his voice."Wow, calm down, I am surprised by your outburst but okay have gotten your point and I shall see to it." I assured him."Why don't you ever talk about your mom?" Leon asked curiously."What's there to talk about, I don't even know her, I never met her, the only woman whom I had known to be my mother my whole life is queen Elisabela and father never said anything about Lady Ambrosia to me." I replied like the unbothered person I am."Legend has it that she was human." Leon is rather serious. I was surprisingly shocked."What are you, dull or what?" I threw a pillow to him, I was really surprised at his stupid question."Leon, you must be joking right? To ask that, why do you think I am a half blooded vampire?" I questioned him hoping to find out he was joking or something."Ohhhhhhhh, that's why, now it all makes sense." Realization dawned on him but I was still shocked rather confused at how dumb my bestie was."Leon, didn't you know all these before?" I asked out of curiosity."I know, I was just pulling your legs but I did so much research on the late lady Ambrosia." Leon said excitedly."What about?" I asked uninterested."You seem less interested in what am about to say" Leon said"Of course I am not less interested in what you have to say so what is it about?" I said to Leon trying not to kill his spirit."Your mom was the first ever human to enter the vampire realm and survived, she was even lucky and got Married to your father surpassing his first wife Queen Elisabela.History had it that everyone was shocked that your father was able to mate a human and birth a child called Dhampir and you my friend are the first human or Dhampir to rule the vampire realm." Leon said"I know, that's why father sent me to train like my life depends on it, so I can be strong enough to rule the realm and also learn to control myself in front of these humans, especially my Grandparents." I said to Leon."Was that why you were betrothed to someone, A vampire precisely?" He asked."Yes, that was why I was betrothed to a full blooded vampire. So her powers and the little I have can bring a full blooded heir to light." I told Him"Zella could have ruled, but why did they choose you?" Leon asked."Leon, you are full of questions. I do not know all these." I said to him"Okay, anyway Grandma and Grandpa will be home, get ready we still have to attend the anniversary. Oh I pray to be able to control myself today" Leon said, he left the sitting room to get ready in his room. After being isolated for years, My late mom's parents took me in to raise me, since I was their Grandchild and they needed their grandchild but what they didn't know was that their daughter had mated with a vampire. My Grandparents didn't know I was half vampire matter of fact, they didn't believe such a thing existed.Today is my mom's death anniversary,it will be celebrated on both sides and of course I am only attending one, that is the one my Grandparents are hosting .Leon is my best friend and brother from one of dad's mistresses, Leon is a full blooded vampire. He was sent by dad to keep an eye on me but of course he is my junior brother so he has to be on my side.Today I have to wear a black suit. I only wear a black suit once in a year and that's on Mom's death anniversary. I heard a knock on my room door."Come in," I said. Grandma walked inside my room."Aethelfrith, you look handsome child" Grandma smiled warmly at me."Thanks Granny,I got it from you." I smiled warmly at her back."How I wish your mom was alive to see the fine young man you have grown into, l bet she would have been very proud." Grandma said with tears filling her eyes. I would have controlled her mind into thinking something else but I love so much I don't want to mess with her."She would" I smiled, I wiped the tears off Grandma's eyes."Okay, I will see you at the hall. Don't be late okay" Grandma left the room."She would," Leon said with a cringing voice from the door."Ewww, I sounded nothing like that and how long have you been there?" I questioned him."Not too long, you ready?" Leon said, looking at himself in the mirror ."Yep I am." I replied."This is the first time in a long time I am going to stand with so many humans. How can I stop myself from having their blood?" Leon asked, seemingly very concerned."Just do what you want but remember don't kill anyone" I warned leon."Sure, have heard daddy." Leon replied playfully."I have a feeling that I will find my mate at this event" Leon said randomly."A human mate?" I question"Well, you can never tell," Leon smilled into space.Aethelfrith's POVWe arrived at the event a little bit late, everyone was dressed in all black, mom's photography right from her childhood till her last picture was placed in every concern of the room. The room was decorated with her favorite colors and flowers.I was most shocked when I saw my own father and mother at the event."Didn't they hold theirs back at home?" Leon whispered to me "How would I know?, We are both here." I whispered back. We both walked towards them to greet them."My Lord and Queen Elisabela" Leon and I greeted in unison and bowed respectfully."I see, you have refused to come home" Father said looking directly at me."You could have atleast responded to our greetings first" I said, Leon pinched me on the hands.Father looked at me, challenging me to repeat myself again. I was about to let him know I don't fear him before mother stepped in."Aethelfrith sweetheart, we have missed you so much, when will you be home?." Queen Elisabela asked calmly."Soon mother
Aethelfrith's POV"A package is here for you" Leon shouted all the way from downstairs. I left my room, went downstairs to see what this package is all about."What's in the package?" I asked Leon"I wouldn't know, I haven't opened the package" Leon said, he opened the package. It was big picture frame, The picture on the frame was taken during my mom's anniversary. It was taken in the kitchen but I don't remember anyone apart from I and Tryamon in the kitchen. The picture shows us backing the camera."It's beautiful" Leon said still admiring the frame."It is but I don't recall anyone apart from the two of us in the kitchen that evening" I said still confused."Meaning you know her?" Leon asked"I don't really know her, I didn't even get to see her face but her voice was beautiful" I said to Leon remembering that evening and her."Do you like her?" Leon asked."How can I like someone I don't even know?" I asked back"There is a note at the back of the frame" Leon said handing the no
Aethelfrith's POV"She is here," I said to Leon."Who is here?" Leon asked as he moved closer to me."Tryamon," I said to Leon."How do you know that?" Leon asked, surprised."I can smell her, I can hear her talk and laugh." I told Leon.Without a second thought,I excused myself from the table and approached Tryamon. As I got closer, I noticed the same beautiful tattoo on her arm, just as I had seen in the picture, in my dreams and when I met her in the kitchen that evening"Tryamon?" I called out softly, unsure if it was really her.Tryamon turned toward me, her eyes meeting mine with a mix of surprise and curiosity. She recognized me, the man whose dreams she has been manipulating, but she hadn't expected to see me in person."Aethelfrith," she whispered, a smile playing on her lips. "I never thought we would meet like this." She smirked.I couldn't help but smile in return, relief washing over me. The connection I had felt was real, and now, finally, we stood face to face.As Tryam
Tryamon's POV"Aethelfrith, what a captivating name for a captivating vampire" I said to Bella, still sipping my wine."Who's that?" Bella asked curiously."The half blooded vampire I met at the death anniversary dinner yesterday" I told her.Bella raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued by my statement. She leaned in closer, her eyes shining with curiosity. "Tell me more, Tryamon," she urged.I took another sip of my wine, savoring the rich flavors before continuing. "Aethelfrith is unlike any vampire I've encountered before," I began, a hint of excitement in my voice. "His presence commanded attention from the moment he walked into the room. He exuded an air of mystery and allure."Bella's interest grew, and she leaned even closer, her eyes widening. "What was he like?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper."I didn't really see his face,he was behind me the whole time" I whispered to her.I"I want him," I announced outloud."Just like that?" Bella asked with confusion written all
Aethelfrith's POV"Should I call her, should I not call her" I contemplated to myself while plucking out the flowers in the garden."You have been doing this for hours" Leon said with anger and frustration evident in his voice.I glanced up from my task, a small smile playing on my lips. "Patience, Leon. Patience," I replied calmly. "I need to make sure everything is perfect before I reach out to her." Leon let out an exasperated sigh, crossing his arms over his chest. "You've been saying that for days, Aethelfrith. It's time to make a move or move on."His words struck a nerve, and I felt a pang of uncertainty in my chest. Was I overthinking things? Should I take a leap of faith and reach out to her? But what if she rejected me?I turned my attention back to the flowers, plucking a particularly vibrant blossom. The petals felt delicate in my hands, mirroring the fragility of my emotions."I can't help it, Leon," I confessed softly. "There's something about her that draws me in.
Crimson's POVAs I sat at the breakfast table in the palace, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. Queen Elisabela's suggestion to have breakfast here was a sign of the growing importance of my role in the royal family. Being betrothed to Prince Aethelfrith meant that this palace was becoming my second home, and soon I would officially become his wife.Turning to my father, a sense of determination filled me. I wanted to make the most of this opportunity and hasten the engagement and wedding process. With a smile on my face, I posed the question to my father, hoping he would agree."Father, why don't we hasten the engagement and wedding process?" I asked, my eyes shining with anticipation. My father looked at me with a mix of surprise and curiosity. He wanted to ensure that this was truly what I desired."Is that what you want, dear?" Father asked, his voice filled with genuine concern.I nodded my head confidently, a sense of certainty in my heart. "Yes, Fathe
Aethelfrith's POVAs I arrived at the art gallery, a sinking feeling settled in my stomach. I was about thirty minutes late, and my heart raced with the worry that I had missed Tyramon. As I entered, my eyes scanned the room, but she was nowhere to be found. With a mix of disappointment and apprehension, I decided to make the most of my time and immerse myself in the artwork. I strolled through the gallery, taking in the diverse range of paintings that adorned the walls. Each brushstroke and color choice held a story, inviting me to explore the artist's world.I walked slowly, my steps echoing in the quiet space as I absorbed the emotions and narratives captured in each piece. "Aethelfrith" Tryamon sweet and melodic voice called my name.I turned to face her, and my breath caught in my throat. Tryamon stood before me, radiating an exquisite beauty that words could not adequately describe. She wore a black short fitted gown with a high slit and an open back, revealing her elegant tatt
Aethelfrith's POVI whispered, "What are you?" Tyramon looked at me, as if unsure of what to say next.As Tryamon met my question with a confident yet enigmatic response, a surge of anticipation coursed through me.She posed a question of her own, "Do you want to know?" She asked looking into my eyes, I felt shivers run down me. The choice was clear in my mind—whatever the truth may be, I wanted to discover it."Yes," I replied, my voice tinged with a mix of excitement and trepidation. I held her gaze, searching for any hints of deceit or ulterior motives, but all I found was a sense of sincerity and a spark of something extraordinary"Okay then, I will show you what I am." Without further explanation, Tryamon called for the waiter and swiftly took care of the bill. Leaving the restaurant behind, we headed towards the mountains.I watched as Tryamon confidently took the driver's seat of my car, her presence commanding yet gentle. The engine roared to life as she skillfully maneuvered
