I squinted my eyes at the harsh lighting. Blinking my eyes open I looked around. My vision felt blurry as I tried to narrow my eyes. I clutched my head as if felt heavy when I tried to sit up.    "You're awake?" Lukas voice rang in my ears. I snapped my attention towards him, eyes widening when I noticed that he was sitting on the floor near the nightstand. How is that possible?     It felt weird to see him like that, a blank look on his face and yet so calm. The bags under his eyes along with the five o'clock shadow on his face made me narrow my eyes. His usual coat was wrinkled by the side, the top three buttons open, giving the view of his bare chest. My lips pressed together. Did something happen which kept him up all night? There has to be a reason why he was sitting on the floor like that.    I groaned, shaking

/Lukas POV/ The moment I stepped down I could sense that Li Changying was in the room. I tried not to slam my head to the wall. Who would invite someone like her? The first time I met her I thought that we could be friends but everything changed after that one night.  For some weird reason, she was obsessed with me and wanted to get married as soon as possible. I was not a kind of guy who was readily available for commitment and most of them knew about it. So it made me wonder what made her ask me to court her in front of everyone?   I thought that people steered clear of her just because she was the daughter of the Demon King but that was not the case. Not only was she ill-tempered but she had no respect for people above over or under her. That's why no one associated with her kind and did not invite her anywhere. But still, she shows up.  I nodded my head when I noticed

I felt shortness of breath. Talking with Li Changying caused the feeling of dread to settle in my stomach. Over the past few weeks, I've grown quite fond of my baby and the thought of losing it made my insides clench. But what if it turns out to be true? What if Lukas kills our child?      'No. What the hell are you thinking? He would never do something like that'    I let out a sigh. He was a demon after all but it was impossible to believe that he would kill his own next of kin. If he really did want to kill the baby he would have let me die instead of calling the fairies and sitting by my side.    After that, I could not join the party. Lukas seemed to be in a kind of mood because he did not object to my decision. I retreated back to my room and let my body rest for a while.  

Trigger warning: pain, mentions of animal foul play /Lukas POV/  I inhaled sharply as soon as I stepped in the dark soil of Caligo.  Every time I am visiting the hellions my power intensifies. As the land was built your only for containing the chaos and by the strongest of all demons it caused the surge of power.    They were already aware of my visit because it was a matter of urgency. I could not avoid Fang any longer and let him sit alone in the dark cellar all by himself. If something was wrong with him I need to know so that I can help him get better. &nbs

As soon as I stepped inside my room, I slumped on the bed, facing the window.  The one thing Lukas did right was get me the sea view. Even in anger, I was thinking about him. I groaned,d pushing my face into the pillow.    The words he said still echoed in my ears, and it made me grit my teeth. How can he say those things as if it was entirely my fault? He should have warned me that I'm unsafe even in his kingdom.   At the knock on the door, I curled up, refusing to respond. I didn't have any energy to talk to him or Kira. Anger was still bubbling in my stomach, and I couldn't answer any of them without snapping. If it's Kira, that's the last thing I want to do.
