Chapter 21: Jax - Visiting Nick
Relief hit me as Sky told me she felt fine. My muscles had been tense from worrying whether the protective spells would work. I didn’t want to become werewolf food.Nick had not seemed pleased to see us, and as me and Sky made our way into the living room, the reason occupied my thoughts. Had we interrupted him in the middle of something?“Who is this?” Nick’s detached voice brought me back to reality. He inspected Sky closely.“This is Sky, from the witch village.”“So she’s the reason my Cassie got taken.” He walked up to Sky, and Sky swallowed and looked up at him with a terrified expression.“No, She’s the reason we got Leah back,” I blurted out. Chapter 22: Sky - One Scary Looking Demon
The door behind me closed with a loud noise that made me jump. It was pitch black and I couldn’t see anything. If it wasn’t for Jax’s presence, I would have been terrified, but I knew he wouldn’t let anything bad happen to me.The torches on the wall lit on fire, casting an amber light over the room. The room was different from the pass way we had just walked through. Instead of the pebbled stone walls, the walls were smooth, and the ceiling was lower. If I didn’t know any better, I could almost believe that we were in some sort of basement. The weak white light in the shape of a dome in the middle of the room caught my attention. I looked closer and saw a skinny woman laying on a small bed. When we walked closer, she sat up, her hair all tangled and it looked like she had large dark circles under her eyes. I guess the light from t

Chapter 23: Jax - My true form
Sky’s reaction did not make any sense. She seemed terrified of me. The force field. Dammit, why did I bring her here?. The force field had stripped me of my glamour and showed her my true form. No wonder it scared her. Even I feared my demonic form.I froze on the spot. Worry washing over me. Would she forever see the demon inside of me from now on, even though that wasn’t who I was?I took a deep breath and put my hand through my hair. “I’m not the monster you saw inside the dome. The dome removes all the magic of anyone that’s inside it. That means that when I stepped inside, the magic stripped away my human form, that is created by magic in a sense. It showed my true form, my demon side. If I had thought about it, I would have warned you, but I am still me.”

Chapter 24: Sky - Nightmares from Hell
Mark walked all the way back to the cabin with me in his arms. His strength impressed me, as I wasn’t the lightest person. He placed me carefully on the bed, before giving me a kiss.“Just rest, I’m right outside if you need me.”Before he moved away from the bed, I grabbed his arm.“Please stay.”His eyes met mine.“Are you sure? Leah said that you needed to rest.”I nodded my head at him. A moment later he was in the bed next to me and I cuddled up to him and rested my head on his chest. The warmth of his body mixed with the familiar smell made me feel safe.

Chapter 25: Jax - Why is this happening?
After Mark had left with Sky, I had felt the need to clear my head. I apologies to Cassie and went outside. The cool air rushed between my feathers as I circled over the treetops. The sun had started to go down, painting the sky in various shades of pink and orange. I kept flying until the stars came out. When I got back, Leah and Cassie had already ordered take away, which we enjoyed in front of the tv. Cassie cuddled up to me and I placed my arm around her. Overwhelmed with joy at how strong our relationship was becoming.“I have a surprise to show you”, Cassie said as the program on the TV finished.“What is it?”“Well, you have to close your eyes and trust me.” I looked over at Le

Chapter 26: Sky - The Plan
I watched as Jax left the room before moving my attention to Mark. “Thank you.” I took his hand in mine. “Asking Jax for help must have been hard for you.”Mark grunted. “I would do anything to keep you safe.” He kissed my forehead.“Would you mind holding me,” I asked weakly. The weight of the mattress moved and a second later Mark was in bed next to me. I snuggled up to go and shortly after I was asleep again. This time my sleep was peaceful. I dreamt I was a wolf and was playing around in the forest with Mark, in his wolf form. When I opened my eyes, Mark was snoring away next to me. I gave him a gentle kiss, as not to wake him, before I got out of bed.The house looked a bit

Chapter 27: Jax - There's no stopping her
The journey to Freya was uneventful. Grey clouds filled the sky and the light rain continued for the entire journey. I landed on the veranda and transformed into my human form before walking into her cottage. I didn’t bother knocking, she knew it was me, she always did. I heard Freya’s voice as soon as I stepped inside.“Come and join us for some tea. It’s a new herbal mix I’m trying out.”I walked into the living room. Freya was sitting on a chair next to the fire, one cat in her lap and the other curled up by her feet. I walked up and gave her a kiss on the cheeks before I sat down on the chair next to her, appreciating the heat from the fire. She poured me some tea. “What can I do for you, Jax?” she said as she han

Chapter 28: Sky - back in the village
After I closed the circle and called all the elements to me, I drank the potion Leah had made for me and read out an incarnation before thinking of Leaf and the place that had been my home for the last couple of years. The energy entered my body and I let it consume me.When I opened my eyes, I was sitting on a field. Leaf’s house was up ahead. I laughed to myself and started walking. I couldn’t believe it actually worked. When Jax told us that Freya had told him to go home and stop us from doing something silly, it made me question if we were doing the right thing, but the spell was the only way I knew how to get here. And I desperately needed to get the hands on that book, for mine and Mark’s sake.I don’t want to accept Mark as my mate until I know I can get my magic back, as if I don’t get my magic back I’d die soon enoug

Chapter 29: Jax - Worry
The tension in the house could be cut with a knife. Mark had gone up from the sofa and was pacing back and forth. Leah was tidying up after the ceremony and me and Cassie were sitting down, holding each other’s hands, our eyes darting from Mark to Leah.“How do we know she got there okay?” Cassie asked.Mark stopped and turned to face us. “I would have felt if something had happened to her.”“How? I thought you hadn’t mated yet.” Cassie’s choice of words got me to chuckle. I quickly covered my mouth with my hand and pretended to cough. Now was not the time for jokes.“She’s my mate and she hasn’t rejected me, trust me, I would know.”Cassie gave him a nod as Leah came and joined us. “What do we do now?”“Now we wait.” I said, not knowing what else we could do.“We can’t just sit around worrying.” Casie s

Chapter 30: Sky - Choices
I sat down on a beach that overlooked the Temple. I didn’t know what to do. Yes, I was desperate to get my magic back, but my reason for it has changed since I met Mark. Now it was all about survival. I could not allow myself to mate with Mark until I got my magic back so that my body wouldn’t perish from the lack of it. There was no way I would send Mark to an early death. He meant too much to me.I was lost in thought when suddenly an energy scooped me up and the next thing I knew, I was standing in the temple. Hecate in front of me. She had returned to her more known form. A woman with a black dress and black hair.“So have you decided what you want to do?” “I can never betray Mark like that.”“You’re saying that y
