As days pass by
Clair pov Months passed by and our relationship flourished. Being his girlfriend was the best thing that had happened to me and Nolan. The hope of Nolan growing up with the love of a father rekindled with Levi coming into our lives. All this time, I had been thinking that Nolan would never know the love and affection of a real dad. Life was peaceful for all of us. Isla and Sienna too, slowly forgot about their ordeal and started to go forward with their lives, since we never encountered Gerald ever since that night. There were times I feared that he might be waiting to strike when we were least expecting him to. However, as months passed by, I also started to feel better about our situation. Perhaps he gave up. However, I made sure that I kept warning Levi about being careful around him at work.  Life went on and our days were filled with work, and studies. Adira and Lilli managed to make us train at least thrice a week despite our tight schedules. We di

Exams are over
Clair povWe couldn't wait for the last exam to finally end, so that we could go on the picnic we had been waiting in anticipation for. On the day we did wrap up the semester, we returned home, feeling as though a huge load had been lifted off of our shoulders.I walked in and literally threw my bag across the room and slumped on to my bed, heaving a deep breath of satisfaction. Finally, it was over and we could have a well deserved break, before we get grilled once again in the next semester. I was hoping to relax my tired bones before going out to find Nolan, however, a set of knocks on the door meant I had to get up before I wanted to. Groaning, I dragged myself towards the entrance and opened the door. I thought it would be Lilli or Adira, or perhaps any of my besties, so I didn't expect to be lifted off the ground and swirled around. "Eeeee! Levi! Put me down!" I yelped. "Why should I?" He was grinning from ear to ear.

Picnic gone wrong
Clair povWhen I descended the stairs, everyone was busy, discussing the preparations for the picnic. I glanced at Sienna, who was standing beside Isla. Both of them smirked when they saw me. I could almost guess why both of them were looking so mischievous. I chose to ignore them, fully knowing that they would grill me later on. "So we will go on Saturday. I think we all can make it then." Adira exclaimed joyously. "So it's set then. Next Saturday, we will have a blast." Austin said, glancing in our direction. "Oh. Hey, I didn't know Levi was here. You just came from upstairs?" He asked, raising his eyebrows. Isla and Sienna let out a muffled laughter, making me roll my eyes. "Uh...maybe he was with Clair?" Lilli shrugged. Adira smirked at her brother, but then waved her hands, as though she was dismissing the topic. "So, next Saturday. Be here at nine in the morning. Levi, you too." S

Life goes on
Clair pov.I sat on my bed, staring at the teddy. Tears hadn't dried up since that moment. The efforts to find Levi had been unfruitful. However, the police and Austin's gang haven't given up hope. He is adamant that he would find his brother in law. All I could do was spend my days in my room, wishing that things had turned out differently. I wished that we had not gone on that picnic. Or that I had accepted that teddy, perhaps then, Levi would have come back with me. Or at least that I hadn't been angry with him. Someone knocked on the door, however I didn't have any energy to open the door, nor say anything. Lilli peeked in after sometime, when I didn't respond. "Someone is here to see you." She said. I gave a bored look at the entrance. My breathing hitched when I saw the girl Levi had met that day. I sat, dumbfounded. She walked in reluctantly and handed me a little velvet box."Hello, I am Maya. Levi had asked m

Could it be?
Clair povI couldn't take my mind off of the young man I saw. Those deep brown eyes, in which I could lose myself in. That mischievous smile, that pinched my racing heart, that hair, and everything else could only belong to none other than Levi. My Levi. My boyfriend. The love of my life. The one who was going to make me his fiancé. The one who had successfully made me fall in love, while I had completely given up on it. I stared at them until I lost them in the crowd, that was now going wild. Some were drunk while others were dancing like there was no tomorrow. The volume of the music stayed the same, however, none of that mattered to me anymore. I was losing myself in my own dilemma. My breathing hitched and soon, my breathing was coming as short gasps of breath. Could it really be Levi? But why did she address him and Danny? And why in the world was he in here? He never came to places like this. At least I don't think he did. And what in th

One step closer
Clair povI agreed to meet him. I knew this most probably was the worst idea I've ever had, however, I found myself hailing down a cab and going to his address. We had been speaking over the phone for over two weeks now, and I was more than convinced that he was none other than Levi. I glanced up at the apartment building he lived in. I will have to climb up to the twentieth floor to find his apartment. Heaving a deep breath, I made my way to the elevator and pressed the buttons. My heart hammered in my chest, and I was sweating bullets. I continued to wipe away the moisture droplets using the crumpled up handkerchief I had been holding ever since I left the penthouse. I had told Adira and the others that I wanted to go shopping. When Isla and Sienna wanted to join, I excused myself saying that I wanted to go alone. They were skeptical. Perhaps they had a hunch that I was going to meet Danny, which they were completely against because he was a stripp

It is a match
Clair povSeveral days had passed since I had given his sample along with Adira's blood sample to the clinic to be tested. When I had gone to the clinic the first time, I was told that they needed a sample of a relative so that they could compare. Hence, I had begged Adira to help me in this. She was skeptical, however, finally she agreed and gave her blood to be tested. I had been informed that the results were now ready, however, I was too anxious to go and fetch it. I lay on my bed, after tucking Nolan in his bed, thinking about it. I should really go and see the results. Even if the results didn't come out the way I wanted them to, I would then have no reason to believe that Danny is my Levi. Perhaps then, I wouldn't feel weird each time I speak with him or meet him. It would hurt, however, I would then accept the fact that he was gone forever. My phone started to ring. When I saw the caller I smiled internally. It had become our rou

Levi is back
Adira stared at the sheet of paper. Tears continued to blur her vision. She couldn't believe her eyes. Her throat had tightened and her heartbeat was erratic. Could it really be true? She wanted to believe it. She even had proof of it right in front of her eyes. There was no denying that Clair was right. This young man who stood in front of her was an exact copy of her brother. And now, there wasn't a chance of thinking that Danny could be Levi's doppelganger. The DNA results had proved it otherwise. He was indeed her brother. The one everyone thought was now gone. "Levi?" She croaked weakly, looking at the bewildered young man, who stared at her, with a frown on his face. "What?" He whispered. His heart skipped a beat as he tried to gulp down the discomfort in his throat. "Clair….what is happening?" He asked her. He was confused beyond imagination. Shaking his head, he looked at the people that surrounded him. All of them w

Back in the village
Clair pov"I don't know if he will remember anything." The therapist said, sighing. "I cannot say for sure. I mean it may or may not work." She said, making me bite my lower lip, frowning in concern. It was exactly what I had feared. He might never remember his past."Is there anything we can do to help? Anything?" I asked, hoping to hear a positive response. She sighed and leaned back. The creases on her forehead meant that she was in deep thought. The therapist had asked me to meet her separately after today's session, while he waited for me in the waiting area. "Why don't you take him to his village? That might help him remember his past?" She suggested. I nodded in response and thanked her before leaving. We had taken Levi to be checked as soon as things got settled. Austin paid the amount his 'boss' demanded, and Levi started his training sessions. He had blended in with the Mafia family. About two months have pa

Aunt
Clair pov.To say I was nervous for the rest of the day would be an understatement. I couldn't focus on anything. So I excused myself and retreated to my room. Besides Nolan needs his nap, so Levi's parents didn't seem to suspect anything. As soon as I entered the room, I changed Nolan's clothes to a fresh one and put him to take his nap, and it was only then I could really think about what I had seen. It definitely was her. My aunt. But what was she doing in this village? And if she is with that person called Miggy, I honestly wonder what kind of research they were doing? To start some projects? She most certainly doesn't seem like the person who would start anything good. I didn't have a good feeling about it. I needed to find out what she was doing. If she was involved in whatever 'project' Miggy was about to start, I am almost a hundred percent positive that it wouldn't be anything good. Or maybe I shouldn't meddle in it
