“What are you doing here?!” Gabriel whisper yelled once they were in his office. Before Nicole could reply, he cut her off. “How did you get here in the first place?” “Isn’t it obvious that your chauffeur brought me here? And oh, your chauffeur is really good looking. You have quite a good taste when employing.” Nicole’s response infuriated Gabriel even more. She was complimenting his employee while he was being serious. “Why are you here?” he said through gritted teeth. “I only came to thank you for the credit card and also to show you this new dress I got.    Weeks had gone by since Nicole accepted Gabriel’s offer, but they had never gone out together as the 'supposed couple' which made Nicole feel sad. Gabriel had asked her to act as his fiancée for six months but she never felt like one even for a second. He was always imprisoning himself with work and Nicole was beginning to feel concerned, he needed some sort of distraction to get him off his busy lifestyle even if it was only for a day, but Gabriel wasn’t giving her the chance no matter how hard she tried. Nicole had no idea why he was like that, maybe it was because he still sees her as a stranger and doesn’t want to warm up to her or maybe, he had a rough past, either way, Nicole was still willing to give it another try. She only hopes not to get disappointed in the end.    Gabriel was in his bedroom getting ready for work when he heard a knock on his door. 

 “And you?... Why aren’t you in a relationship?” Gabriel asked taking Nicole by surprise. She hasn’t talked to anyone about her personal life.  Nicole hurriedly went to look for the house administrator, she needed him to get a doctor to come check up on Gabriel. When she did that, she instructed the maids to make chicken soup for Gabriel. After about half an hour the doctor arrived. He did a check up on Gabriel and told Nicole that he was down with a fever. He prescribed some medication for Gabriel and told Nicole how and when they were to be taken. He also told her that Gabriel needed to rest for a week. Before leaving, the doctor strictly told Gabriel not to wear himself out with too much work when he eventually gets better. Nicole thanked the doctor for his time and saw him out. She ordered one of the maids to go buy the prescribed drugs, then she returned to Gabriel’s room and told him to shower before taking his drugs. He dragged himself out of bed and Nicole helped him to the bathroom.    Nicole stood in front of the mirror staring at her reflection. She looked paler than she used to be and had lost some pounds. How did she get to this point? She wondered. She applied some makeup to hide the paleness under her eyes. She wore a brown crop top and white jeggings with gladiator heels. She wrapped her hair in a ponytail and looked at herself in the mirror one last time before picking up her brown jacket and phone from the bed and headed out of her apartment. Nicole went to a coffee shop to have some cupcakes and coffee. She didn’t realize how much she has missed a proper meal until she felt this one on her tongue. After finishing her breakfast, she bought some donuts that she would take home before leaving the shop.
