Chapter 30 - Good-Looking
I immediately reeled and pulled the fish out of the water. "Yay! We got it!" Mitch screamed out of joy.    "What do you mean 'we'? It's Alexis's catch." Jackson said, which led them to quarrel again, but Mr. Mantovan called us before they could even catch more fish. Since I got one, I automatically won our bet.    "Oh right! Did you know that upperclassman from the volleyball team?"    Taichi's question piqued my interest. "Which one?" Mitch asked.    "That taller one with silky hair that sometimes covers his eyes. He's been taking all the girl's attention because of his cooking skills and handsome face. Even I could fall in love with him." Jackson said as he placed his arm on Taic

Chapter 31 - Some Kind of Protagonist
I was confused at first, but I'm thankful at the same time for what Ezra did. Even if it was Dwight, I don't want anyone to touch my face without permission. And I don't think I would let anyone touch me even if they ask for permission. Although I don't understand Ezra's purpose for doing that.    Dwight laughed. "What was that for?" As he stared at Ezra's face, which looked like it was about to explode.    "N-Nothing. Let's just finish this."    Ezra averted his gaze and continued cooking our food. The more I watched them, I couldn't help but think that I was thankful for having them in our class since we could eat something delicious. I could already smell the fragrant scent coming from the kitchen.

Chapter 32 - What Kind of Story Is This?
"That's right. I'm sorry I got you in this situation."    My eyes were slowly adjusting to the darkness, and the light above somehow helped me see Ezra a little. I saw how he stood up from the ground and started brushing the dust off his clothes.    "Can you stand? I'll help you." Ezra extended his hand and gently pulled me up, but I felt a sharp pain on my leg, which caused me to fall back on the ground while groaning.    What is this? Why am I injured all of a sudden? Did I twist my foot before I landed? But isn't this becoming a poorly written teen drama? And am I the protagonist? If this is what I think it is, I would rather be a side character.    Wait, why am I even

Chapter 33 - Deserve
I gulped after seeing a silhouette on the curtain covering the bed where I was sitting on. It wasn't a silhouette of a woman, but instead, it belonged to a man. And a very tall man, that is. A-A s-serial killer?    I know that serial killers would target school trips to go on a killing spree when they're bored, but I didn't expect to experience it firsthand.    My heartbeat was getting faster and louder, and I could hear something ringing inside my ears. What if it's a ghost? A ghost that's been haunting this infirmary since the day he died? Maybe he's a student that also had his own school trip here but died.    I gulped as I could feel how cold my hands had become.

Chapter 34 - Getting to Know Each Other
Ezra pointed to himself as if making sure. “Me? My life mostly revolves around volleyball.” He chuckled as he placed his hand on his chin. “Is that boring? Maybe I should find another hobby.” His eyes look like they disappear whenever he laughs, and it was something I didn’t expect would be something I wanted to see.    What’s wrong with me? Why am I having these kinds of thoughts? I was flustered when his eyes met mine and made me avert my gaze.    “How about you? How did you end up liking volleyball?”    My gaze slowly went back to him after he asked that. “S-Someone important likes it… that’s why I ended up liking it too.” I still couldn’t look at him for longer than a minute. Though my fri

Chapter 35 - Starting Anew
I tilted my head. Why is Ezra stuttering? "Yeah. He's my only friend."  Ezra sighed out of relief which I couldn't understand. What was that for? "Is that so? I could be your friend too." We arrived in front of our room, and he opened the door for me after he said that.  "Can I also be your friend?" He asked as we got inside.  I stared at him. Even though it was dark, I could still catch a glimpse of his face. I'm trying to figure out if he's serious with what he's saying.  Why would he want to become friends with me though? It's not like I'm someone important or anything like

Chapter 36 - The Two of Us
Hearing those words causes me to smile as I avert my gaze. Am I delighted with what I heard? Is this what they call happiness? I actually don't understand, but I can't stop smiling either. "I'm still lacking, but thank you for your compliment."  "But I'm not complimenting you."  I froze after hearing that. W-What? Did I misunderstand things again? Did I assume that he was complimenting me because the word 'amazing' sounds like a compliment?  H-How am I supposed to say anything back now? I don't know what to do. It's too embarrassing to look at him now. This is why I shouldn't assume things too soon.  "I'm just stating facts. Y

Chapter 37 - Learning More About You
I chuckled. I'm slowly getting used to Ezra's presence. "Mitch was the one who suggested to play a game in the first place."  "Mitch chose to leave you here? That's super rare."  It's not like Mitch should stay by my side all the time. He has his own life to enjoy. "It's good that he's having fun. Mitch's been waiting for this trip with pure excitement and cheers. That's why he's disappointed because of the rain."  Ezra nodded as he sat beside me on my bed. "Then what about you? What do you want to do?"  I shrugged. What can we do in this weather and this condition? "It's not about what I want to do. There's nothing I can do in this condition. I could only sit here and stare at not

Chapter 38 - A Really Good Guy
"Really? That's great!    I could see how delighted Ezra was even though I haven't let him see Chewy yet. "Uhmm, do you want to see some pictures?" He nodded lots of times after I'd asked him that, but then I remembered that my phone was still charging.    "M-My phone's still charging," I said as I pointed to the other desk where I placed my phone since it's near the outlet.    "I'll check if it's already full," Ezra suggested as he went towards the desk and opened my phone. "Is this your cat?" He quickly turned to me with a massive smile on his face while holding my phone. Right, I remember using Chewy's face as my lock screen.    "So cute! Oh, it's already fully charged."

Chapter 39 - Our Walk Home
"Alexis?"   I grunt as I hear Lean calling for my name again. What's her problem this time? She always disturbs my sleep as if it's the most normal thing she can do.    "Alexis, we're here."   I opened my eyes upon realizing that it wasn't Lean's voice. I felt the embarrassment seeping into my body after realizing that I had fallen asleep on Ezra's shoulder, and he was the one calling my name.    Wait, did I drool on him? I immediately wiped the corner of my mouth and was relieved after noticing that there wasn't a drool there. Thank goodness. I would have died due to shame if I did dro
