I once again took a deep breath. Even though I kept telling myself that I didn't feel nervous, I could still feel my heart beating faster than usual. Is it because of the excitement? I don't know.    All I could hear was the cheers of the people all over the arena. And the sounds of the buzzer that they're testing before the game starts. We'll be playing with many players here, and I know they're all here to win.    As I was roaming my vision, I felt someone's arm on my shoulder, which caused me to flinch. "Don't feel nervous. We're all here with you, so just trust us and toss the ball like how you usually do." Ezra said with his usual bright and cheery smile.    Does he not feel nervous at all? It must be because he's used to playing in this kind of place and with this kind of atmosphere. There's no way it'll make him feel nervous when he's born to be on this stage.    I apprecia

"Lexi!" I turned around after hearing that voice. It was Mitch. He ran towards me with his usual bright smile. He was still crying yesterday; what happened to him?   "Until when are you going to be gloomy? Let's welcome this brand new day and be happy." Mitch said while we walked towards our classroom; he sounds like he's faking it, but I didn't mention it since he must be having a hard time.   I haven't seen Ezra for a while now, and I couldn't even get mad at Jasper for what he did because I was too occupied with our loss.   "Cheer up." Mitch pats my back as he says that. I can see how hard it is for Mitch to say that to me because he's also blaming himself for why we lost the last match.   Mitch was put in as a pinch server since coach Alfred saw something about his serves and wanted to use it as a weapon, but Mitch failed a couple of times. He was depressed as soon as the competition was over.

The hangout Jasper wanted to do finally happened, and it didn't come out as he wanted it to. Instead of playing around with me, Jasper and Ezra became competitive whenever they talked to each other. I can't understand their reasons, but they started playing as if it cost their lives.  "Whoever wins this game will have their alone time with Alexis," Jasper said, which made my forehead crease. Why is this guy using me as a trophy? What would they even benefit from having alone time with me? Constipation due to the awkwardness? Anyway, they had their fun; that's how that hangout ended.  With Ezra winning all the games and Jasper became a sore loser. On their last bet, the one who'll win shall be the one that will accompany me home. And since Ezra won all of it, we went home together.  It's been so long since we last walked like that with no one but us. It was an awkward yet blissful feeli

After Dwight said that, all eyes went in Ezra's direction. So the second years have decided already? Even though everyone agreed with what Dwight said, coach Alfred hesitated as he watched Ezra's expression. He must be on edge because Ezra just came back, and he's already being slapped by that information.    The coach might have thought that this was too fast, and Ezra might run away again. That's what I also thought before Ezra and I met on the rooftop.    With the unwanted attention, Ezra stood up from sitting on the floor. "I don't think I'm good enough for that position." He said, which didn't surprise everyone.    Ezra's a happy-go-lucky guy and free-spirited, which is why I don't think he suits the position as the team captain either. That was if we're not going to mention the fact that he's the best player in our team, and his plays could lead the team on its own.  &

"It's too hot."  I heard Mitch complain. We're currently on our way to the gymnasium where the basketball game will be held. "Just endure it," I told him, but Mitch continued grunting while fanning himself.  Today's weather is extreme, I admit that. The scorching sun outside makes me want to bathe in a large pool of ice water where I can stay cold all the time. Though that's not scientifically possible since I might die due to the cold, I would still prefer that instead of this. At least we're going to stay in the gymnasium and not in the field where it's hotter.  I didn't even know my legs could sweat, too; I just discovered it now and could feel my jogging pants getting wet. This is why I hate hot weather; I wish it would just rain, but it'll ruin the games in the field, so that cannot happen. But I would still rather rest than play any more games. "GO, ARIES!" T
